I feel this. Bear has to sniff everything and then pee on it before going to the next one.
I feel your pain. And I don’t begrudge ‘the next one’ but just wish it wasn’t usually just 3 feet away. 😆
Does Google have a team full of dogs to count all of the sniffable things between each destination? They scare me sometimes…
There’s a stat for ANYthing.
And its even longer if the leash gets yanked out of your hands…and you have to chase the culprit down to retrieve and continue the ambling stroll…Yup, it has happened to me…
Or I have been the slow turtle…cause once I fell on a bit of ice…and I had to limp all the way home…we were at the halfway point of our daily 2 mile outing…nothing broken thankfully…
You were most lucky that spill did not result in anything broken (though a bad sprain can be just as painful). One early morning I stepped off a curb to cross the street, rolled my ankle and snapped my leg cleanly just above the ankle about half a mile away from the house with three dogs in tow who didn’t understand why I was hobbling along. And yes, it was the leg that was needed for the clutch on the car. Managed to hit every single stop light between my house and the hospital. #o-u-c-h
I can verify that time line is accurate, LOL!
People with dogs know exactly how true that cartoon is. 😉

Hahaha. How many times did I say, “Oh, I’ll take the dog for a quick walk” back when I pet sat … knowing there’s no such thing (unless you pick the dog up and carry him!).
It’s totally true. Trust me, there are some days picking them up and carrying them has crossed my mind. Not my back mind you, but definitely across my mind. 🤣

We have seven heactares for them to mooch about in…but no…they like the garden, the sheep shed and the nearest patch of sugar cane…it could be because we go there with them, Leo on his electric trolley, me rounding up stragglers to try to thwart the phantom piddler, and spend time with them as they sniff, roll and investigate, morning and evening. It’s a pleasure to watch their pleasure.
The Ranch Hands always stick close to me till the neighborhood squirrel hoodlum shows up-they all bets are off. But boy can they dally round on the walk. But it’s good they haven’t a care during their morning constitutional.
Hmm, sounds a lot like our kind of trip:)

It’s down to 17 seconds if your dog knows that there is a rabbit at the end point.
I figure it would be much quicker with the Ninja…she’s like lightning when she sees a bunny.

I’m always astounded by the sniffing time. I realize it’s good enrichment time but apparently my dogs (Norman in particular) are slow readers. 😂
They forgot to add the extra wanderings around each bush to follow EACH and EVERY bunny trail to the route posted on the phone.
Haha! Yup…extra time needed for squirrel snd bunny trails. 🐿🐰
