Monday Musings ~ December 6, 2021

Happy Monday! Welcome to the busiest and most wonderful time of the year according to many folks. When you work in the ‘pet therapy business,’ you sometimes see a slightly different side as folks try to maneuver through some of the retail madness. This cartoon made me smile as I thought how Santa and the gang might feel about it.

Smiles

However you handle the stresses of the holiday season, we hope you are able to take a moment and smile. And please be  kind to those trying to help you with your holiday preparations. A smile and a bit of patience go a long way to making things ‘merry and bright.’ Make it a terrific week!

Live, love, bark! 🐾

    1. Wouldn’t you just love to know the process they go through to come up with clever material like this? I know I would!

      1. IKR? I hate to sound like an old fogey, but it seems like many of the more recent generations totally skipped the lessons in social niceties. Just sayin’. 😉

  1. Yes, it’s that time when we express our deepest holiday sentiments, isn’t it? Here’s one of my faves from Despair.com:

When you wish upon a star, your dreams can come true. Unless it’s really a meteorite hurtling to the Earth which will destroy all life, then you’re pretty much hosed no matter what you wish for. Unless it’s death by meteorite.

    Cheery, no?

  2. We must all believe in the magic of Christmas.
In “Scrooged”, Bill Murray sums up the magic of the season simply and eloquently; (paraphrased)
“People are a little nicer. A little kinder. They smile more and they laugh easier. They hold the door for others. It’s the one time of year when people get to act like the people they really want to be.”

I have committed myself to living in the Christmas Spirit the year ’round.
    It’s a wonderful feeling.

    I believe!

    Paz

    1. I’m with you wishing people would adopt that mentality all year long. Life would be far better if they did. Happy holidays, Paz!

  3. LOVE IT! Mrs. Claus should be in that group – “I have to let the seams out in the Santa suit every year because kids leave out too many cookies!!”…………

    Hugs, Pam

  4. I feel for all those poor shopworkers having to work all day to the sound of Christmas jingles. We know it is Christmas here when the Santa Claus toilet seat cover is put up on the front door of a lady up the road…

    1. Oh my…to each his own when it comes to decorations, right? This time of year reminds me how grateful I am not having to ride up a 30 floor elevator with Jingle Bells (and other annoying seasonal music) blaring over the speaker. 😉

      1. Mother won said object in a raffle…gave it to me to pack bottles in my luggage when visiting her. Lady in question saw it, seized on it…and there it is. Somehow I felt that explanations as to its function would be …unhelpful.

        1. 😇 That probably would be a hard explanation to airport authorities. They seem so humorless.

  5. I can guarantee there will always be some who are just plain rude, they are no matter what the season is. I know from Experience from my job working in a supermarket even when we had lock downs there were some who basically said “Well of course it doesn’t matter if you catch Covid you’re only a shop worker.”…Never mind that we are Key workers and that people wouldn’t have any food to eat with out us. And we just keep on doing our jobs.Sometimes I just get tired of the human race.

    1. So right you are. The treatment of essential workers seems worse the longer this panDAMNic lasts. People seem to be far more thoughtless any more. Happy Monday!

    1. Thanks, Frank. Thought it was a clever look at ‘the other side’ of the season. Hope you have a swell Monday. Looks like both our teams worked extra hard at losing yesterday. I watched a bit of the Cincy game-that pic 6 near the end was heartbreaking.

  6. Yes, let’s be kind to all those that are working to make this holiday special.

I did chuckle over the funny though.

Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to the pups, a smooch to Norman and a hug to you. ♥

    1. Glad we were able to provide a smile. People seem so tightly wound these days. It seems bizarre we have to remind people to be nice but these are the days of our lives. Wishing you a week filled with loads of smiles.
