This sign was taken a while back and is located in the Dairy Block in LoDo (lower downtown) Denver and it has become Wilson’s motto. He adopted it after running into some deer yesterday on his birthday walk. Sadly I must report his efforts were rather rebuffed and he came to the conclusion they were very strange dogs.
Here’s hoping your week is full of friends. Happy Monday.
Live, love, bark! 🐾
At leest you tried to make frendss Wilson!!! Grate saying Miss Monika!
***purrss*** BellaDharma an ((hugss)) BellaSita Mum
Wilson always presumes everyone he meets is his friend and gets terribly confused if they don’t stop to confirm it. 😉
Nicely said.
Thanks! Wilson lives by that saying. Have a great weekend.
The saying is great…and that’s how we originally became friends! 🙂
Indeed…for which I’m ever so grateful!
We think they just didn”t knew the quote yet, Wilson🐱Double Pawkisses for you and your mommy too🐾😽💞
Such a good point. 😻
Java Bean: “Ayyy, well, sometimes a stranger is just a stranger I guess!”
Lulu: “Strangers can still be good for a belly rub though. Just saying.”
Wilson agrees with your positive attitude, Lulu! Here’s to the next stranger who’ll deliver on a belly rub.
He’s an earnest chap, that Wilson. Those deer don’t know what they’re missing!
He survived just fine. His positive attitude is…NEXT. LOL
Bahahahaha!
You are a special pup Wilson!
Aww, thanks for such a kind comment. He just very much likes people. Happy Monday!
I’ve always liked that saying…..sometimes strangers STAY strangers and sometimes they become friends. Some deer are pretty tame when they visit our yard but others run off – I figure the not-scared ones might make good friends (although I haven’t tried!).
Hugs, Teddy and Mom Pam
Wilson is always prepared to make friends and never lets them get him down if they’re not interested. I wish I was more like him 😊
That gave us a laugh for our day, thank you, buddy!
So glad you enjoyed it! Happy Monday.
You have a good heart, Wilson. I’m sorry things didn’t work out with your new friends. But it’s a good idea to approach every situation with an open mind.
Next to making friends, his favorite thing to do is bark…NEXT if they aren’t interested! He never takes it personally and knows there’s gotta be someone just down the block who’s dying to meet him. Happy Monday, Dan.
Our male Irish Setter loved hearing people say he was a “handsome boy.” When people walked by without saying anything, he would look up at us like, “what’s wrong with that person?”
Oh boy, do I know that exact reaction. Whenever Wilson hears “aww” his little bum starts a-wiggling. It’s the magic word that totally gets him wound up.
That is why they are referred to as ‘vishus deer’, BOL!!
Benji and Dalton bark their heads off at them…but because they are on the other side of the fence it takes a while for them to move on.
Bwahahaha! We’ll remember that!
Yes indeed!
💙
Poor Wilson. He just wanted to make friends. Hope he has more luck next time. (Oh and a tip, Stay away from the one with antlers and who snorts)
He truly seemed baffled by them, much like his reaction to the jillions of bunnies we encountered in my son’s neighborhood where we spent the weekend. Had they been squirrels, he’d have known exactly what to do but those hoppity guys (as well as the ‘rats with hooves’ as referred to by residents who are constantly battled the garden and fruit tree thieves) were quite muddling to his tiny little floofy brain. We made sure to cross the street and give mama and her babes lots of room to navigate a safe exit. Happy Monday, John.
Aww, you are such a precious boy, Wilson. I hope you had a wonderful birthday.
Thank you. It was a pawsome weekend-I got to spend it watching over my ‘uncle’ while he’s recovering from shoulder surgery. He gave me loads of tasty treats including salmon skin-yum yum. Boy did I feel extra special and now will insist Mum buys the same salmon filets for me! Have a swell Monday.
Your friend,
Wilson 🐾
I can’t have salmon cause of my allergies. *pout* Xena
I’m glad you had a good birthday, Wilson, and salmon skins sound yummy! We all hope your uncle is doing better every day and getting treats, too. *wags* Lucy
Wilson sends his sympathies, Xena. He was totally in heaven after eating those skins. He thought he they were akin to canine catnip. ‘Uncle’ is doing amazing and is having a fairly easy recovery (wish mine would have been as easy as his but there was that little detail of being 20 years older that might have made a difference. 😉 It’ll still take about 12 weeks but the pain so far has been mostly light.
Glad for ‘Uncle’. Hope he has a fast recovery.
🙏🏼 Many thanks.
The perfect musing. I agree.
I linked this post to Awww Mondays.
Have a fabulous day and week, my friend. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Wilson. ♥
Many thanks, Sandee. Wilson subscribes to that meme 150%! And thanbks for adding us to your hop. Have a wagnificent Monday!
Love that saying. Beginning a “new life” in a “new city” and completely alone, where I literally new not a single soul … at the age of 78 … was totally frightening. I have learned in the years since that is so very true …
Oh gosh, aren’t you a brave soul. We are contemplating a move and may reach out for tips on how to be as successful as you’ve been. Wishing you a totally friendly Monday!
Who knows what he’d miss if he didn’t try?
Thanks, Jacqui. Wilson shares that sentiment! Wishing you a pawtastic Monday.
strangers can become the best friends :o) a happy week for you all
Everyone starts out as a stranger but we hope the meeting becomes a friendship. Happy Monday.
Yup, scale is everything! Happy Monday, Helen.
Oh Gosh Wilson, don’t let that bother you overly much!
He was pretty nonplussed but seemed to channel a titch of perplexion. It was a funny reaction. The deer on the other hand wanted no part of that land hippo!
That’s funny. My cats think deer are funny looking cats!
Wilson says, “and they’d be right!” Hahahaha!
Ha, gotta love his pawsitive attitude toward the world! 😉
Exactly! He’s never met anyone he didn’t think would be a friend. Well except for squirrels. Happy Monday.
Many years ago, when I lived in Berkeley, and had a cat that went outside (I know…I don’t do that anymore) my 15 lb cat decided to stalk some deer eating on bushes in the back yard. Crouched with his butt wiggling….it was too funny, and I’m glad he thought better of interacting in the long run.
Oh my gosh…what a hysterical sight that must have been. Too funny. Thanks for sharing that memory. I’d have loved to seen it. Have a great Monday!
Well, I suppose the size was about right….
