Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Given today’s political climate, I think this quote is an appropriate one for the times and hope you are doing your part to spread the Reverend’s message. We need it more than ever. In the U.S. in particular, looking away can no longer be the norm.

It’s cold, snowy day in the 303 (and a bit quite unexpected-I know I sure wasn’t prepared for temps in the teens AND snow, even if the snow is pretty minor). The sky is clear now and we hope we reach the forecasted 41F degrees (5C). I know a lot of you have been buried in cold and snow filled and don’t expect too much sympathy but we’ve been acclimated far too long to 50’s and 60’s over the past couple of months.
As we typically do on Monday’s, we’re also sharing a smile since we still need to smile in these crazy and uncertain times. Wishing you a reflective Monday that’s filled with good intentions, positive actions with lots of smiles this week.
And if kids have been bugging you, here’s a strategy that might help. Stay warm and have a great Monday reflecting on the legacy of MLK.

Live, love, bark! 🐾
That is a very good quote from MLK. He was very wise.
That snowman, OMD!! Bwahahaha!!
We have snow, and you’d think that here in Michigan peeps would know how to drive in it if they have to be out, but there have been SO many accidents around the state, including a 100+ pileup. Trucks jackknifed and on and on…sheesh! And our wind chills are in the below zero zone…worse is yet to come. later in the week if the forecasters have it right. I pray they do not!
I can usually wear enough layers to stay warm, but my hands are always cold. And taking them on and off to pick up after Wilson and take a pic of something doesn’t help. Still…breathing fresh crisp air is such a joy!
GAH!!! Best snowman ever!
Sloppy kisses,
Delilah
Bwahahaha…we thought so too! Happy Monday, precious Delilah.
We are enjoying our snow and bitter cold, it is our kind of weather here. Hopefully we won’t see 40 for at least 4-6 weeks but most likely it will happen sooner again which is sad. Try to enjoy your snow.
As long as we can navigate the trail, we’ll be out there. Have a great Monday!
Kid in the snowman is a hoot! And I love that the MLK quote includes animals.
Thanks, I love finding new quotes to share on MLK Day. And the kid edating snowman≥..priceless! Happy Monday.
Perfect quote today. I love that snowman.
Thanks, Dan. I agree with you on both. Have a wonderful Monday.
Love the snowman! Still willing to send you a boatload of snow! 🙂
Glad you enjoyed the kid eating snowman-it cracked me up.
Yes, we’ll take whatever extra snow anyone is willing to share. 😉 Happy Monday.
He was a great man.
Love the funnies. You made me chuckle on this cold and foggy morning.
I linked this post to Awww Mondays.
Have a fabulous day and week. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to handsome Wilson. ♥
Thanks Sandee. MLK truly was a great American. We need his vision more than ever. The child eating snowman made me laugh too. Wishing you a wonderful Monday. And, as always, we appreciate you adding us to your Monday blog hop. You’re the best!
That snow man eating the child was inspired! We keep expecting snow but so far, no go.
I sure hadn’t expected last night’s little (emphasis on the little) gift but we’ll take what nature is willing to gift us. The National Western Stock Show ends this weekend and it’s always freezing cold during stock show and it’s just now starting to fulfill that forecast the past 3 or 4 days.
Had to chortle at the child eating snowman. It made me laughed out loud. Hoping you have a great Monday!
Snow day ! Well that’s one snowman with a Frosty attitude! 😅. Still unseasonably warm up hers at the Golden K. 67 degrees yesterday. I spent most of the day outside with The Girls. Of course we always need the rain (and snow up the hill) but hey- we might as well enjoy what we can’t control. I hope life is settling down at your new digs. And yes, let’s do what’s right for the well being of ourselves and our fellow humans. Have a good week at, is it now, The Barn?
Hee, hee…sometime I have that same frosty attitude.
It’s been horribly dry here too, high country snowpack is significantly down. While everyone enjoys 50’s & 60’s in January, there will be a reckoning come summertime. We’ve even had fire warnings and with the wind increasing all the time, not a good outlook ahead.
We’re still organizing the new space but making incremental progress. Yup, from Ranch to Barn…wishing you a fantastic Monday, Mike. Please give the Golden Girls a good ear rub from me.
Yes to Rev Martin Luther King’s words! Be well!
It’s quite alarming that we have to remind people to be kind but here we are. Have a terrific Monday, Lori.
what good words… and we hope theyx find lots of open ears…
Open ears and open hearts-we need more of them! Happy Monday.
A perfect quote for this day…and these days, Monika. The week has started out on two positive notes here, as the sun has returned from its couple of days off, and I won’t have to move any white stuff out of the way for a few days. It’s the little things that make life great.😉Have a great week!
Yay for sunshine! Those little things make a big difference in January, especially. Have a great Monday and enjoy the sun, Bruce.
A great quote…wish we could force politicians to live by it!
Trade winds here, blowing a hooley, so dogs disgusted and refusing to leave the house, the winds being, of course, my fault to judge by the reproachful expressions.
I keep seeing tiny forward steps but with the firehose of ugly hate and outrageous, it’s not enough. People have to become more engaged. We can no longer wait to rid ourselves of this malignancy. I’m sure a treat or two will get you back in The Thugs’ good graces. Happy Monday, Helen.
A great quote and a funny snowman. Thanks for sharing, Monika
Thanks, John. Happy Monday. I love finding new quotes by MLK-what a remarkable human. I had to crack up with that snowman. I found myself nodding after reading it. LOL
Yeah, no. No sympathy from me, sorry, not sorry to say 😉
That snowman is HILARIOUS!!!
I know…and the National Western Stock Show is current on and the temps are ALWAYS miserably cold. It wouldn’t be nearly as bad had we not had temps 15-20 degrees above normal and definitely out of shape for dealing with cold temps. Wishing you a great Monday with at least lots of sunshine even if it’s cold. It’s always much better when the sun is shining and not gloomy and cloudy.
Funny how that happens. And yes, getting used to warmer temps is a double-edged sword.
Here, it is not too bad (for me) 23F, feelsl ike 9F 😉
I’ll be going out for my lunchtime walk and the sun is truly attempting to pierce through. The snow as stopped. for now!
Those aren’t horrible temps. Today’s teens just caught me off guard. It’ll take my hands some getting use the current temps. They were quite frozen when I shoveled the walk. Luckily my neighbor came and helped and good company makes it much better. 😉 Enjoy your lunchtime walk.
No, not at all. My thighs are feeling the cold thanks to the fact I’m wearing jeans and my hands are cold from constantly taking them out of my mittens to take pictures but I don’t doubt if I were out there for more than 30 minutes, my hands would have aclimated.
Yay! So glad your neighbour helped you!
