Well, well, well…welcome to the last week of October. Goodness gracious…I blinked and first September and now October, have flashed by in a heartbeat. We’re finally receiving some long awaited rain (it’s been raining since 1 AM this morning). Southwest Colorado has been flooding for the past three days but we only received cooler temps. Yesterday’s low was 36F (2.2C) with a high of the mid-50’sF (13.3C). It feels good entering sweater weather finally. Poor Wilson looked at me when we walked outside for the early morning bathroom break like I was insane. He immediately dropped down to a prone position once outside but think the umbrella intimidated him more than the threat of being wet. Even his favorite potty spot didn’t speed up his process. He just stood there with his head hanging low, looking pitiful. I was finally able to encourage him enough to start his day and then he happily raced back to the house for the comfort of his dry bed where he’s now snoozing after enjoying a tasty breakfast. Our morning walk should be ‘interesting.’ Wish us luck.
Anyway, let’s start this week with a little smile. We found another sign from our friend, Vince The Sign Guy and hope you enjoy it.

Have a great Monday and an even better Halloween week.
Live, love, bark! š¾
Lulu: “Our Dada says he wonders if the aliens brought the Bermuda Triangle’s missing side back along with Flight 19 and everything else they dropped off in Close Encounters. We have no idea what he’s talking about, as usual.”
Itās always a possibility. You guys have better things to worry about, like when dinner will be served when we fall back to standard time.
So glad you are seeing some rain!!!
We were thrilled. Ok, Wilson was thrilled but he got over it once it stopped and we were able to have a nice walk.
I think dogs sometimes delay going to the bathroom in bad weather to punish us
Noise from falling rain gets amplified in dogs’ long or floppy ears on sidewalks and streets. Wilson is a super sensitive dog and I’m sure that also impacts his dislike of rain. We so rarely receive rain but it dried out by the time it was walk time so all was good. Hope you enjoyed a great Monday.
Abbi sympathizes with Wilson. I get the pitiful look too!!
But Yay for the rain you are finally getting. š
Good luck on your morning walk.
The Air B&B we stayed in when in Texas once had a book of Vince’s signs on the coffee table. š
Our walk was great. And dry. Weāre loving the cooler temps. Hope it was a good Monday.
It was.š Yay on the walk!
I love that header, mama.
As for the boy, I completely understand his consternation. Being rained whilst trying to do your business sounds awful. He did a great job muddling through though. He’s the goodest boy.
So you guys went from no rain for the longest time to flooding. Did Mother Nature not get the memo about practicing a happy medium.
Have a great week
Thanks, Marc. We thought some autumn leaves were in order.
Wilson is laughably adverse to rain. Itās quite funny the way he reacts. But nature decided to clean up her act and cleared the skies. Itās been a gorgeous day after the rain stopped.
The flooding was going on in the Four Corners area. Itās part of the El NiƱo effect. Mostly that moisture didnāt get as far north as Denver. Talk about a tale of two cities!
Hope itās been a great Monday.
It’s just beautiful.
I used to love running in the rain. As long as it wasn’t too cold. A nice summer rain was so refreshing.
This El Nino effect has such far reaching ramifications. It’s frightening.
It has been, thank you. Hope yours has been grand.
Every day is a good day, some are just better than others. š
Here’s to the good ‘uns.
You would like it here Wilson, low 70s and no rain. I like that funny today!!!
Glad you enjoyed todayās smile. We woke up to rain and pea soup cloudy conditions but itās a glorious afternoon with bright blue skies now and crisp autumn temps. Weāre loving it! Hope you guys have a great week!
I love the cooler weather. That was a funny one. š XO
Glad you liked it, Ellen. I thought it was funny. Wilson and I are thrilled with the cooler weather and I can finally wear sweaters! Hope it’s been a great Monday.
Pretty chilly with rain to boot. Poor Wilson. Hope your walk goes well. Liked your sign today Monika. I hope you have a good week.
Thanks, John. Glad you enjoyed todayās smile. We actually enjoyed a marvelous walk once it stopped raining. It was brisk and lovely and the sun has come out now an itās about 51F. Perfect autumn temps. Have a swell Monday.
I wish we could get down to business here and stay cold! This up and down isn’t my idea of good.
Yeah, nobody likes yo-yo weather! Hope it levels out soon. Happy Monday!
We’re cooler (40’s during the night and early morning) and 60’s during the day. Lovin’ it. Oh, and the sky is an amazing blue with no rain in site. The girls say, “Hi, Wilson!” and the Bermuda Triangle sign made me laugh!
Glad you enjoyed today’s smile. It made me chuckle too. It was 43F this morning and hasn’t yet reached 50 but am told this week will be in the 60’sF during the day. We loved this morning’s brisk walk once it stopped raining. Wilson’s nice clean paws are history but it was a great walk nonetheless. Have a great Monday and enjoy that blue sky!
Well now – Fall is falling and can Winter be far behind? Nope! Buckle up – who knows what Winter will bring. Poor Wilson….!!! We are loving Fall here and the weather gurus say we won’t have as much snow as last year (which is good – we were trapped in the house for longer than usual because all the snow people were booked!). Anyway, thanks for the smile – I always wondered about that triangle….in fact, I’m starting to wonder if Earth is actually still ROUND after all its’ been through!!!!
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
Thanks, he was so pathetic, I felt really bad for him. But we just came back from a lovely walk with no rain and he was happy as a clam at high tide. Glad you enjoyed today’s smile. That Vince guy knows how to appeal to my inner punster. Happy Monday!
Ah, doggies and rain are usually a bad mix in my experience. Combined with cold?? Even worse as you know!
That is a funny sign today!
Glad you enjoyed today’s smile. Luckily the rain stopped and Wilson enjoyed a brisk walk in 43F (6.1C) temps. The sky looks like grey pea soup. But I think it’ll warm up a bit for the rest of the week. Have a ‘wagnificent’ Monday!
Wow, that is an extreme change in temps. I’m looking forward to this week being over. I really am not keen on Halloween. Get Bonfire Night out of the way, of which the village where I live played a big part in the whole Guy Fawkes story, and then we start rolling towards Christmas, which I very much enjoy. Have a good week š
Thanks, Paul. 50 degree temperature swings in a 24 hour period are not uncommon here. I’m not much into the whole crazy Halloween thing here either. There are some very strange people out there and the last thing I want to do is encounter them wearing a spooky costume. You’re right, Christmas is the time for celebrating, especially with little kids. Their eyes fill with wonder and it just makes me smile inside and out. Have a great Monday.
It absolutely flew by! September and October – ZZZZZZIP!
I cannot believe my baby is 27 today.
That is a great sign! Have a fabulous week!
Happy birthday to your baby! What a wonderful time period. Young enough to enjoy life without all the aches and pains that’ll come before you know it. LOL Have a wonderful Monday, dear Dale.
I agree…the calendar says November but my mind says July. I lost the whole 3rd Quarter. Reiko shares Mr. Wilson’s aversion to rain. She will not leave her covered patio for waste management purposes if it is raining. Fortunately, the concrete patio hoses off easily.
While I feel badly that you lost the 3rd quarter, hopefully you can console yourself with the fact you probably didn’t miss much.
Wilson was so pathetic looking this morning while the rain was coming down but happy as a clam at high tide on our walk when it was dry. ‘Course his once white socks are brown now from sidewalk puddles. Oh well. Have a great Monday.
we are n0 fans of rain either… and we got a lot of this wet stuff…. can we send it to the bermuda triangle please?
Dogs with long or fold over ears especially dislike the rain since the sound of drops hitting sidewalks and roads get amplified by the physiology of their ears which acts like a megaphone. When they’re as sensitive as Wilson, it’s compounded. But it’s stopped now and he’s a happy boy again. Here’s hoping for a dry Monday and a great week.
Stop blinking. Youāre making the earth spin faster. But yes! How the heck did it get to be almost November?! This time of year I always Lament the passing of time. After all these years (caused by too much blinking š) youād think Iād just go with the flow.
Good luck with the wet potty times and walks with Wilson! Even my āwater dogsā are reluctant at times to get their precious golden fur wet. Hereās to the 4th side of the Bermuda Rectangle showing up; I bet Earhart stole it!
Have a good week. The next one will be here in the blink of your eye. š
Ha…loved the Earhart observation. Dogs, especially those with long ears don’t appreciate rain.
The older I get the quicker time seems to pass. But dang…the past two months just blasted past me. More important than ever to enjoy each moment. Here’s to a pawsome Monday with ear rubs for the Golden Girls.
I’m happy you are finally getting rain! It won’t be long before Wilson will be happy to be out and about again.
Thanks. I was surprised it rained most of the night. Yay. I’m almost sad that our walk will mean his wet paws won’t be white for long. Sigh. But we definitely need the moisture so I’ll just have to deal with it. He looks so pristine after last week’s groom but not for long-we’re headed out shortly. Have a great Monday.
Wilson is very smart. Winter is coming.
Love the funny. I laughed out loud.
I linked this post to my Awww Mondays blog hop.
Have a fabulous day and week. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to handsome and smart Wilson. ā„
The lad really does not like getting wet. I feel badly for him. You should have seen his pitiful face this morning. Glad you enjoyed today’s smile and as always, ever so grateful to be added to your hop. Thanks, Sandee! Have a fantastic Monday.
time has a way of just fleeting by ~ so little control in this life~ like rain!
Hugs^_^
Boy, that’s an understatement! The older I get, the quicker it seems to pass. Have a ‘wagnificent’ Monday!
He is a clever boy. I agree about the blink and October disappears!
I thought September flew by but October has literally zoomed past us. I had hoped things would slow down but it doesn’t seem like it much. Enjoy your Monday.
We had a wonderful lab for many years who absolutely would not go out into the rain until he simply couldn’t hold it anymore. A lab….as in water dog. Obviously he didn’t get the memo.
Dogs whose ears are long or fold over especially dislike rain since the sound of drops are amplified by the physiology of their ears which act like a megaphone. I don’t mind holding the umbrella over Wilson but he is so skeptical of that contraption. Silly boy. Have a great Monday.
I find it amusing that an OES doesn’t like rain, what would his ancestors think?! š Love the sign. š
I know, right? Norman didn’t like rain (or snow) either. Guess we’ve domesticated the moors right out of their DNA. š Enjoy a terrific Monday.
Love that sign!
Poor Wilson. Rainy days are touch on some dogs Our first dogs love the rain and loved being wet, but she was the only one. I imagine Wilson collects a fair amount of water in that coat. Sounds like a nap is in order.
Yeah, rain is not friendly for dogs, especially those whose ears are longer and fold over. The sound of raindrops gets amplified. I have yet to have a dog who enjoyed rain. Luckily he has a good waterproof jacket for wet days. Have a great Monday!
Mom’s the one that despises rain around here. We hounds don’t care if we get wet or not. It’s a rainy dismal day again today, hoping the sun will be back tomorrow. Great joke about the triangle!
The sky is as thick as pea soup and while I’d prefer it not to be raining, I’m thrilled we received a nice soaking during the night. We so need it! Glad you enjoyed today’s smile. We hope the sun returns soon for fun adventures for you all. Happy Monday.
