The lupine has been taking over the yard and are now swallowing up the dog. BOL Not that I mind (the taking over the yard part). 😉

Those are beautiful! How do you keep them from being trampled? My gardens get lizards and frogs and Pierre feels it is his duty to go berserk after them! LOL!
Aw, thanks! There are winding stone paths and that helps get around but even this year it’s hard to find. Once they’ve fully bloomed and start seeding, I will cull some of the leggier versions and hack back to the stone paths.
We have squirrels but thankfully, Sam could care less. It’s all the passing neighbors and their dogs that he’d rather visit than some old dumb squirrel. BOL wish I could say the same for me. I despise those dang creatures!
Anything that beautiful should be allowed to multiply.

If you use the flowers as a threat, Sam will behave better. “Don’t do that or I’ll plant more lupinos and they’ll swallow you up”.
Ha,ha! Just like Little Shops of Horrors…Feed me Seymour! Seriously we were in the garden this morning and I totally could not see him as he was playing Super Bloodhound on the trail of something most interesting. Thought he’d left the yard and nearly panicked. 😉
I just love lupins! They are such a “happy” plant when in flower and, when in large groups, are simply beautiful! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Thank you. Yes, they definitely seem happy in the garden these days. I hadn’t had good luck with them until a couple years ago and this year’s profusion has been an extra bonus.
