Happy Monday, everyone! It was uncharacteristically foggy and very humid yesterday morning. Autumn continues to play peek-a-boo in the Mile High with chilly mornings and evenings but still reaching the low 80’s by afternoon. Here it is almost the first of November and we haven’t had any snow yet…which seems quite un-nerving. It’s beginning to shape up as a La Niña year which will mean colder than average and less precipitation than average for our part of the country which could pose problems for next summer. *Sigh*
The dogs were extra frisky in the early morning coolness and fog. Elsa tried to catch every leaf she could, thinking they must ALL be squirrels.
Hopefully you had a good weekend. Some of the teams I follow clearly are trying to make life personally unpleasant for me as a fan. Oh well…there’s always next week, right? What was your weekend highlight?
Have a safe and happy ‘Howliween.’
Live, love, bark! <3
Oops our *
I love watching out dogs chase leaves it’s the funniest thing tehe 🍃
It’s been so nice and warm here in WI, I love it.
This reminds me of a story I need to share on the blog. It’s about my resident leaf chaser and the leaf that wasn’t a leaf. 🙂
Mist it…ROFL! Thanks for making me laugh today. ☺
Can you tell we like puns around the Ranch? 😁
Every squirrel is a leaf, and every leaf a squirrel. You never know where we’re hiding…
But Elsa sure knows!
Mist! GAH! I see what you did there. So funny!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Tee, hee. 😁
Hope you have a Happy and safe Halloween!
Sun was out but still on the cool side. We walked through the gardens and then on to the Foreshore and the beach and the wind coming off the water was too cool, so we went back to the gardens. All up – a quiet weekend with the dogs and the family.
Sounds like a lovely weekend. Well done, John with ear scratches for sweet Benji. 😉
The weather has been the same here in Chattanooga – cool nights with mid-80 days. Breaking all sorts of records. Even with the nights not getting as cool this past week, we have been determined to use overhead fans instead of the A/C after the last electric bill pushing $300. Happy Howl-o-ween!
$300?! Yikes, yes, overhead fans indeed!
We’ve had a very dry late summer/early fall this year. Not good for the grass, trees, etc., but good for spending time in the yard with the girls. As for our teams? Clemson won, and the Falcons eeked out a 37-34 win over Green Bay; but our Carolina Panthers lost. 2 out of 3 not bad I guess.
Your teams did better than mine. 😉 The yard time is wonderful but would it hurt Mother Nature to drop a few raindrops now and then? Sheesh.
Hey sweet friends. Our weekend was kind of quiet. Mom is sick and we are all trying to take care of her. Funny how the house doesn’t run without the mommy. XOXO – Bacon
Aww, Bacon…so sorry to hear about your sick mum. Hope she feels better soon and with your help, no doubt she will. Hugs. ღ
Thanks sweet friend. We have been snuggling with her all day. She looks half way human right now. That’s not saying much. XOXO – Bacon
My weekend highlight was a rarity- I did a lot of nothing on Sunday. Hard for me to sit and just at relax for a whole day but I did it; or didn’t do it as the case may be…
Gold star for you! ⭐️
Colder than usual winter? There goes next year’s citrus crop.
At least for the Rocky Mountains, not necessarily for the desert Southwest. 😉
With years of cold snaps, you don’t get anything until the next year.
Well, our weekend was halfway good: our favourite football team [the Longhorns] won, but my favourite German soccer team [Borussia Dortmund] only had a tie. so it was a tad mixed. But it was VERY relaxing, and that’s the main point.
Have a great week,
Pit
Relaxing is ALWAYS good. 😉
Well, if you CAN relax, that is. Relaxing is difficult when your favourite team is playing badly, isn’t it?
Lovely autumn picture!
Lots of trees and even more leaves in our ‘hood.
Hmmm … I suspect Elsa is onto the squirrels in leaf costumes 🙂
She thinks the moving leaves ARE squirrels judging by her reaction. Silly girl.
We had a great weekend – off to South Bend for some winning football (for once!). The weather couldn’t have been better, and it looks like the good weather will continue this week here. No complaints!
This is the best time of year, great weather and some terrific football! Woo-hoo. Go Irish!
Go Irish!
It’s warm here too… I wonder when to get the fall clothes out!
I’m patiently waiting for actual sweater weather. 😉
My boy is depressed on this early Monday morning. Had sis and fam visiting from Northern Virginia for a couple of days. More running after the ball than usual with an 8 year-old providing loads of entertainment. Now the house is empty….just me and the pooch as Rocket-man is away on travel. The Poodle is sulking and I’m missing my family. On the upside though, I’ve got a bowl of candy treats waiting by the door. A Snickers Bar (mini one, of course) puts a smile on my face. I haven’t had one since LAST Halloween. Happy Monday.
The problem with mini Snickers is they’re so small & like Lays potato chips-you can’t just eat one! Bet the goblins and ghoulies love coming to your house. Happy Howliween as you re-enter the normal routine. 🎃
We haven’t met and yet you know me!
It’s a rule of nature. And we all know it’s not nice to fool Mother Nature. 😉
Elsa is right… every leaf is a squirrel and we have to get it :o) we had a wild weekend with a horrible diy fail…what else, of couse LOL
Happy Howl-o-ween!
This time of year, I wish they’d ALL just go away. 🙂 I can hardly wait to read about the DIY project. I can always use a good chuckle. Happy Howli-weim, Easy! 🎃
