Fast asleep, I couldn’t help wondering whether “Sam was a hedgehog or a dog?” I’ve never seen him tuck his nose under his leg like that before. What do you think?

Adorable! Isn’t it interesting how small they look when they are all curled up? Wilhelmina weighs close to sixty pounds but when she curls up she looks so small just like Sam! 🙂

So strange since he’s never done that move before, only the tucked curl.
Ducky sleeps like that at times, too. And seconds later, she’ll be fully stretched-out with both ends “hanging” off the sides of her dog bed.
As for Sam? I’d have to say dog cuz I’ve never actually seen a live hedgehog close up.
I wish I could curl up like that on cold nights, but I’d need paramedics to straighten me out again…
LOL Getting older is a cruel mistress, that’s for sure.
Mom calls me Bagel Dog when I sleep like that. #donut

He’s pretty adorable regardless! Lots of cats sleep like that … but I’ve never seen a dog do it. Maybe it was too bright for him to take a nap?
He normally curls up tight as a ball like a cat but has never tucked his head under his tail. Maybe he was checking to see if his favorite man part was still in tact? 🤣
Either way he is darn adorable 🙂

That is such a cute way to sleep. I got with hedge-dog, as others have said. I don’t think Tippy has ever slept that way. She will tuck her head and nose between my leg and the back of the couch sometimes. I usually think it is to shield her eyes from the light. Who knows. Maybe Sam just had a particularly cold nose today.
With that knucklehead, you never can tell. 🤣
We do that when we’re cold.

Hard to believe that little ball of fur weighs 55 + lbs. when he’s standing! He makes himself so small when he sleeps.
Tough question but, as Ray does that also, I am going to go with dog!

He’s chilly. Cole did that to warm up. We called it a dogball. Then on a cold walk one day I covered my nose and warmed up right away, breathing in warmer air.

Seamus used to tuck his head under the couch so he could have darkness…have you seen that?
Whoa, nope, never have. The only thing a nose undertake sofa means in our house is “please get that thing for me.” 😊
