We’ve always said we’d love to go to the Christmas markets in Germany……there is a Christmas festival this weekend in one small town near us that is having a “European Christmas Market” – we might try to visit but it wouldn’t be the same as ACTUALLY being at a market overseas. Maybe one day…….
Christmas markets in the US are sooo different. I’ve never seen anything close to the ones in Germanhy, but a definite option to see crafted items with a European flair. Hope you are able to check it out this weekend.
They do look like cookies, but are actually made from slices of wood, laser cut. Then again if your squirrels are like the hoodlums that populate my neighborhood, they probably wouldn’t be safe. Doggone varmints!
Germany is such a beautiful country, I stayed close to the Ramstein(sp?) AFB and toured the country with a friend. So much green and SO MANY beautiful castles!
Hahaha…we often act like we’re in the Emerald City living among the munchkins but no, this was from the land of gigantic beer steins and wonderful memories.
They always make me smile of a trip where I experienced first hand, the wonderful celebration of Oktoberfest. Wonderful craft items and oh-so tasty beer and good fun.
What a festive greeting.

I thought maybe you took that picture at one of the Christmas markets they have over there.
They sure do look yummy….but…alas…however the squirrels we have around here,, might make short order of them, LOL!

It’s a great time to get away! I wish that you could go there.
Keeping my fingers crossed it’ll happen in the foreseeable future. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Lulu: “I kind of want to eat those because they look like gingerbread or something, but I have a feeling I would regret it if I did.”
Probably only tasty if you’re a beaver.
You must be talking about sunflower seeds. i LOVE to munch them.
They definitely are tasty.
I also thought that those were Munchkin medals at first.
Well, if you’re a squirrel or beaver, they might be pretty good munching fodder. But otherwise, best to ooh & ahh at them on a Christmas tree.
My son was there a few years ago on his European Holiday. He said he really liked the city and the people
It’s a wonderful place to visit with an interesting mix of just about everything 😊
Wee know you wish you were there; butt wee so glad you are “here”!!

Lovely and quite hospitable to visitors.
Sometimes just dreaming of being there can be fun. Sweet dreams:)

Dreams are good!
Hubby and I wanted to go to Germany some years back. He was stationed there during the Vietnam conflict. Beautiful.
Have a fabulous day, my friend. Scritches to the pups, a smooch to Norman and a big hug to you. ♥
Attending Oktoberfest in person is totally magical! It’s nothing like the celebrations done in the U.S.
Just for one brief moment I was tempted to bite … your photos, your illustrations … magical!
Ah, sweet memories.
Yes, they’re magically tasty. And so it that place.
That is so lovely!! We like to take the same sorts of images 🙂
Thank you. There’s nothing like taking a tiny slice of a vignette and making it the focal point. 💙
Yes, absolutely! My favourite thing to do. 🧡
For a moment I thought that medallion said Munchkin and you were in Emerald City. 🤓

Fond memories of these….a German friend used to make her own and give them to friends.

oooh oktoberfest? ..two years without now, maybe it never will become the event of the year….
Yes, one of my favorite events of autumn travels. That would be a very sad realty. I have my paws crossed it will reopen again in the future.
