Monday Musings ~ January 24, 2022

Welcome to Monday, where we salute the week with a smile. Today is also Norman’s ‘Gotcha Week’ because everyone deserves to be treated extra special for [at least] a week (his actual Gotcha Day was yesterday). Can’t believe this adorable hunka-fur has been with me two years now. The time has flown by and with each day I count my lucky stars this boy came into my life. He brings such joy to all he encounters, In fact, he’ll do so later today and tomorrow when he’s visiting folks at the hospital.

Happy Gotcha Day, sweet boy.

Norman

Now for today’s secondary smile. We can thank Vince, the Sign Guy of Indian Hills. Given the latest turn of weather, it seemed rather perfect. Stay safe, warm and keep smiling.

Live, love, bark!  🐾

  1. Happy Gotcha Day handsome Norman!!! Now that brought me a huge smile! The sign was pretty good, too. But Norman’s pic was just beautiful. Enjoy your week!

    1. Many thanks. He does have a way of getting peeps to smile, be it here on the blog or at hospital. The dog is just a people magnet! Stay warm-hope you’re feeling better.

  2. I, too, cannot believe that Norman has been with you for TWO years. He is such a sweet sweet dog. Happy Gotcha Day, Norman!

    1. Thanks for the well wishes. It’s completely inexplicable to me too. I sure got lucky finding this sweet boy.

    1. Many thanks, sweet kitty. We’re thrilled to count you as one of our favorites too.

    1. One day of celebration just doesn’t seem like enough, be it a beloved pet or human. We like extending the ‘special.’

    1. No doubt we’ll be whinging on about warmer temps soon enough but must console our spirits with the thought that Spring is probably just 6 weeks or so away. Woot, woot!

  3. Norman! You are purrfect! We shall sing you the song!

    1. Thanks! The celebration will carry us through the whole week. Everyone at the hospital wanted to give him a birthday treat. 😊

That sign is going to be my new mantra for winter storms. I think we may need it for tomorrow’s forecast. 😉

  4. HAPPY HAPPY GOTCHA WEEK NORMIE! You are one lucky boy – you live in a place where EVERYBODY loves you – we can’t ask for more than that. Well we could but we won’t – right?

    Hugs, Teddy

    1. He really did but has stepped in no nicely. I know Sam would be delighted and give a furiously wagging tail in approval.

    1. We’ll leave 360’s to others, Kismet and just try to deal with finding a tasty treat in a corner.

  5. Happy Gotcha Day Norman!! You are one lucky fella.
Love the sign. Stood in the corner, but it still 27 degrees here (at least it’s sunny and probably the highest temp for this week – I do not like temps below freezing!)

    1. Thank you. Yeah, winter has made quite the appearance here too. We got spoiled with numerous days above 50. Sigh.

    1. Thank you, Millie & Walter. We thought that was a great sign given how chilly it got all of a sudden.

  6. I love the funny, but you know how much I love Norman. I’m glad he came into your life too, because I’ve enjoyed him so much thanks to you.

I linked this post to Awww Mondays. I couldn’t help myself.

Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to the pups, a smooch to Norman and a big hug to you. ♥

    1. Thank you, Sandee. Sorry for the delay in responding-the laptop was in sick bay and just got it back last night. We always appreciate your kindness and support. 💙

    1. Many thanks Weims…hopefully your corners will keep you toasty this week. We’ll be hoping they keep up warm with tomorrow’s winter weather advisory {gulp}.

  7. Congratulations, Norman, for commemorating two years with your new family. You’ve worked a lot of healing magic, and not just at the hospital, during these two years (your mom really needed you when Sam passed). Here’s a cheer to many more celebrations and years!

    1. You’re so right, Norman filled some mighty big paws when Sam became an angel. He’s such a love bug and realize he’s filled my heart with such love and joy.

    1. Thank you, Michael. Although I don’t consider myself much of a fisher-person…I definitely reeled in a real whopper of a sweetheart.

  8. Already two years? That’s just nuts! What a wonderful thing for you two to connect.
And that sign is fab. They are so good!

    1. I know, right?!?! I definitely won the doggo lottery with Norman. Happy Monday, dear Dale.

  9. Plenty of treats for Norman this week, then. Two years now? Does not seem possible!
Loved the sign. I’m going to try that on Leo – if I can remember it by the time it gets cooler here…

    1. I know, I had to double check the years myself. Norman arrived just a few weeks before COVID and we all know that’s been around forever. The sign cracked me up-that Vince is a clever mate with the puns.

  10. That sign is great!! Happy, happy gotcha day and gotcha week, sweet Norman. We can’t believe, either, it’s been 2 years since you landed at the Ranch. It seems the older I get, the fast time flies by. Lots of love and wishes for lots of yummy treats. Lucy, Xena, Chia, Riley and Amy

    1. Many thanks for the gotcha wishes. It really does not seem possible it’s been 2 years and then I realize it’s been that long since Sam earned his angel wings.

        1. With those heart dogs, I wonder if we’re ever fully healed, probably more likely just somewhat accepting of the new reality.

  11. Happy Gotcha Day Norm!! He is definitely handsome and I am so glad that you both have each other! <3
LOL on the sign, I will see if it works. Happy Monday!

    1. That sign made me chuckle out loud. And, on the plus side, nothing bad happens when you’re in a corner, right? LOL
