I’ve been thinking this whole tip thing has gotten a bit out of hand these days. Apparently it’s now trying to tap into the pet world, if today’s smile is any indication. As you can imagine, Wilson is 100% on board as he gladly accepts his tips in treats or ear rubs. This week he’s set to receive lots of tips and bonuses since we’re headed to Lutheran to visit patients, staff and visitors. And there will be plenty of ‘tips’ to get him through his grooming session but it’s probably a good idea to not mention the part where water is involved.

Tipping, it’s like quicksand, first thing you know, you are stuck and going down fast. It’s hard to know when to do it, and when it’s not needed.
I never blame a dog for trying to get a tip/treat.
That’s a great way to think of tipping-quicksand! It’s become such a thing. I have no problem tipping for good service but the person at the register where you order your coffee…I have to draw the line. I always enjoy watching Wilson trying to convince me to give him a treat. He’s so earnest and sincere. He’s pretty hard to resist. Happy Monday!

On Saturdays, I have a way to handle egregious tipping requests. I always give a tip, but it is not just money. My favorite one is: “Stay away from black holes.”

Tipping, and the expectation of tips has gone off the deep end. I don’t mind tipping for service, but I do have to shake my head at some places where I see a tip jar.

It’s rare I have to wash a cat. They do a good job unless they get sick or full of poo. Nothing worse than a wiggly screaming cat with claws!
