Monday Musings ~ September 15, 2025

I’ve been thinking this whole tip thing has gotten a bit out of hand these days. Apparently it’s now trying to tap into the pet world, if today’s smile is any indication. As you can imagine, Wilson is 100% on board as he gladly accepts his tips in treats or ear rubs. This week he’s set to receive lots of tips and bonuses since we’re headed to Lutheran to visit patients, staff and visitors. And there will be plenty of ‘tips’ to get him through his grooming session but it’s probably a good idea to not mention the part where water is involved.

Monday smileWe hope you have a pawsome Monday and an even better week-minus the water.

Wilson ~ bath

      1. 💕 All is well here, thank you. Just been a little busy. Our festival season starts this weekend and will go on till Diwali… fun and busy times ahead 💕

        1. Glad things are well on your end. Festival season sounds like great fun, exciting times. Enjoy!

    1. Funny how mums have no sympathy for the hangdog look when it comes to baths. Harumph, I say! Fortunately I survived…but barely. Even with loads of treats.
      Your anti-bath fur-iend,
      Wilson 🐾

    1. Thanks. The Peanuts gang is a great way to start out any week so we’re happy you enjoyed this week’s smile. Hope you’re having a good week.

    1. He agrees. Now if only he’d carry said bowl instead of just plaintively staring at it and then at me. LOL

    1. That’s a great way to think of tipping-quicksand! It’s become such a thing. I have no problem tipping for good service but the person at the register where you order your coffee…I have to draw the line. I always enjoy watching Wilson trying to convince me to give him a treat. He’s so earnest and sincere. He’s pretty hard to resist. Happy Monday!

    1. Thank you, Mr. Terry. We love it when people smile with us. Hope it’s been a pawsome Monday!

    1. Starting out the week with a page from the gang at Peanuts is a great way to face this crazy world. Here’s hoping it’s a wonderful week for you, Marc. Happy Monday.

    1. Isn’t that Snoopy cartoon hilarious? I too can totally see Wilson expecting a tip like that! Happy Monday.

    1. Bwahahaha! I love your Saturday tips. Haven’t had the nerve to say something like that yet, but I have thought similar ‘tips.’ Happy Monday, John!

  1. That’s a funny cartoon, but effurryone must get tips when they bring their own bowl, kind of cute tips😸and you’re cute as well while you’re having a bath, Wilson, even if you don’t like it, maybe a double tip just for you and some Extra Pawkisses for you and your mommy too🐾😽💞

    1. Thank you. It made me laugh since everyone (no matter if they’re just the person who rings up your coffee or takes your order for a meal) always wants you to give them a tip. I’m old enough to remember tips were given for good service. I guess things change. Hope it’s been a good Monday!

    1. Thanks, Eliza. Fortunately he tends to forget about the ‘mistreatment…aka water torture as soon as we walk through the door. 🙂 Happy Monday.

  2. Love the funny and you’re so handsome Wilson. You have to have a bath now and then. You’re patients will be happy about that, too.

I linked this post to Awww Mondays.

Have a woof woof day and week, Wilson. Scritches to you and a big hug to your wonderful mom. ♥

    1. Thanks for the hook up on your Monday blog hop. Yes, everyone will be thrilled about Wilson getting a bath, his white paddles (aka paws) are a little grey from walking on wet surfaces. Wishing you a pawsome Monday and week!

    1. Many thanks, Mike. Yeah, the whole tip expectation has truly gotten out of hand. My ‘tip’ to them, is to stop asking especially when an order is placed at the register. Sorry, not tipping for that. Here’s to a wagnificent Monday for you and the Golden girls.

    1. If Wilson thought there was any tip at mealtime, he’d be there in heartbeat. Wilson will be fine…eventually…like when we walk out the door. Luckily dogs are quick to forget things like baths. 🤞🏼 Happy Monday.

    1. Thanks. He’s such a drama queen on baths but luckily he recovers completely by the time we’re out the door! Have a great Monday.

  3. Oh Wilson. The look on your face seems to say, “help me out of here.” I hope you get a few treats for being a good boy in that bath.

Tipping, and the expectation of tips has gone off the deep end. I don’t mind tipping for service, but I do have to shake my head at some places where I see a tip jar.

    1. He makes no bones about how much he dislikes baths, that’s for sure. But he’ll be fine and well rewarded for not acting like a bucking bronco. I’m with you on tipping jars, especially at a register where you order coffee! Have a great Monday, Dan.

    1. Ha! They’re so clever, they probably have been behind the proliferation of tip jaws! Happy Monday, Carole.

    1. It’s completely shameful for us dogs, isn’t it? Here’s hoping your Monday is full of tips!
      Your fur-iend,
      Wilson 🐾

    1. I can’t even imagine. Wilson just bucks…no screaming and no claws! Have a furbulous Monday, Kate.

    1. Good point. There has to be a limit on multi-dog households when it comes to tips. Wait…what am I thinking…there shouldn’t be tips period, right? Happy Monday, Helen.

    1. Glad you enjoy our Monday smiles. He’ll get over it…as soon as we leave the doggie spa. LOL Happy Monday.
