Monday Musings ~ May 20, 2019

Hey guys, let’s start the week out with a smile. Do you allow your dogs on the furniture?

Sleeping dogs

Wishing you a week full of smiles. Now that Sam is back to being his normal self, he’ll be making some hospital calls over the next few days and spreading smiles over at hospice and West Pines so we might be a bit tardy reading your posts and comments.

Live, love, bark! 🐾

  1. Good to hear that Sam is back to normal!! Oh yes I love the back of the couch and I join Dad in his recliner and I get the whole middle of the bed at nght

  2. Absolutely! Luke is pretty good about sharing, though sometimes he’ll only leave room for one human, not both. 🙂

    1. Sam is the consummate bed-hogger. He’s even been known to hog the pillows too. 😁

  3. My dog thinks it’s her couch. She’s also taken to emptying my husbands drawer and sleeping in there

    1. It’s quite embarrassing being owned by dogs. LOL Thank you for swinging by the Ranch. We 💖 visitors, especially those who allow their pets on the furniture.

  4. YES! I likes to lay in Ma’s chair and look out the patio door for intruders. sometimes Ma thinks she can kick me out. BOL!!!! yeah, right.
I hopes you are feelin’ lots better Sam! sendin’ healin’ vibes your way!
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥

    1. Thanks, Ruby. He’s feeling very good today, wonder how he’ll feel once w go out in th 3″ of snow that arrived last night! YES, snow on May 20th. WTD?

    1. Gosh, you made me want to move in to your house! Love the FURniture comment. So true.

  5. The boys used to get on our old couch but we bought new furniture when we moved and it is too high for Bentley to safely climb up and down on so they are not allowed on it. They have two plush beds next to our furniture though. LOL!

    1. We have dog beds in every room; I think their beds are nicer than my mattress!

  6. Do we allow dogs on furniture. Hahahaha…as if there were an option. I especially like Elsa’s sprawl with extended leg. Always the glamor-hound. Sam just goes for the comfort.

        1. I avoid current long legged ladies. More like I have no clue but that’s a different story.

    1. 🤣 Yeah it’s embarrassing for me to tell folks I’m owned by a couple of poodles.

  7. We probably aren’t allowed on the furniture, but Mom is always amazed that none of us ever tries to get on the sofa. She is hoping it stays that way:)

    1. Aww, thank you. As I look over at the dogs just now, Sam got down and Elsa is curled up with her chin resting on the arm of the sofa. She looks pretty comfy.

  8. YIPPEE!!! Wee are so happy that Sam iss back to beein a knuckellhead once again!
An hee an Elsa sure do s-p-r-e-a-d o-u-t on THE couch don’t they??? Mew mew mew….
Mee sits onn left side of couch on sheepskin; LadyMew sitss on rite side. Xcept today shee tipped coffee on turuiosey blanket an had to wash it, so ‘her’ side of couch iss uncovurred an guess where mee iss Miss Monika?? Mew mew mew…..on ‘her’ spot!!!! Til her blanket driess….purrhapsss…

  9. I would love it if our little rescue dog, Elsa, would get on the sofa….it would be such fun to cuddle. But she ignores invitations and refuses to get on anything but her own bed. This may be lucky for us though since she is a heavy shedder.

    1. Elsa was reluctant at first. Then she realized how comfy it was. She usually uses the arm as a chin rest. BOL

  10. Our precious Little Bit was allowed on the furniture. It was her home too. Awww on this shot.

Have a woof woof day you two. My best to your peeps. ♥

  11. Milo’s asleep curled up in our family room chair at the moment. It’s cold again. Glad to hear Sam is better, and fun to see Elsa’s long long long legs

    1. Today will be a good day for napping on furniture. It was spitting snow between rain drops on our morning walk. 😲

  12. Schnauzers dont shed. Lucy looks like Pig Pen when walking through a ray of light. She’s a major producer of hair. I can’t let Xena on the furniture and not Lucy. 🙁 So they both are on.

    1. Exactly! We definitely have a Goldilocks attitude around the Ranch…’this one is juuuust right.’ 😁

    1. Oh. yeah. I remember those days when our cockatiel would get escape her cage. Ick. It always seem to get deposited on the tallest bookshelf. 😯

    1. We do indeed. In fact, I worry about 99% of the time with both my knuckleheads. 💜

  13. Elsa looks so lady-like sitting side saddle as she watches Sam snooze away the day. In our pack only Kali is allowed on the sofa by permission only. We figure the old gal has earned the right so occasionally we’ll invite her up. With bad hips we have to help her on and she immediately melts into the couch with a satisfying groan. Happy Monday!

    1. Sweet Kali…she’d most definitely be welcome on my sofa. Happy Monday to you. Hope the open houses went well over the weekend. 🤞🏼

  14. Nope. Zeke is NOT allowed on my furniture. Except one couch. In the basement and since I no longer hang out there… neither does he!
    Have a fabulous week!

    1. That is the ‘rule’ at my house too. As you can tell, that kind of went out the window. #poodles!

        1. Bwahaha! Not’s what people tell me! I guess I just choose my battles carefully when making a stand. I really don’t mind, they don’t shed so it’s not really a problem. 😇

          1. Right. I’m sure we each have our moments 😉
And not shedding would be a huge factor in what I would allow or not. Leather couches and dog’s nails do NOT make a happy couple so.. no. 😉
