Training works on both kids and dogs. Today is my ‘baby’s’ birthday. This woman is an amazing mom to both two and four-legged kids, has a killer sense of humor with a solid gold heart. Clever and creative, she’s grown up into a remarkable woman who loves Irish Wolfhounds and is…ahem…as I affectionately call her, Leprechaun-sized (aka vertically challenged), with her dog towering over her, as a mom. I don’t think I did too badly. Happy birthday, sweetheart. I hope your day is as bright and special as you are.

They are sweet beasties. Huge, but sweet… even if Lace and Eagle suddenly spotted something and took off at the same time, thereby breaking said cousin’s collar bone… she still thinks they are sweet and are her babies…
They are sweet. A bit terrifying to see something that large come loping at you with wild eyes! Then there’s their convenient height tailor made for counter surfing. Nothing is safe with a wolfhound’s nose and mouth in the house!
Good gawd… No stretching and everything on the counter is just there for the picking. Even as tall as Zeke is, he would have to make an effort to reach the countertop…
Those drive by’s can yield a lot of noshing. Then there’s that mile long tail swacking your legs.
Indeed! Best be well brought up to NOT touch the counter…

pony‘puppy’ probably wears human sized PJ’s. Sam was BFF’s with the two previous Wolfhounds, running with the big dogs when they lived in Colorado. I’m sure he’d be fine with the whipper-snapper. Elsa on the other hand is a bit of a wild card. I’m sure the racing around part she’d enjoy, not sure about gigantic roughhousing. Oh, and Roeán is still growing and filling out as she’s not quite two years old yet. One hundred and twenty-five pounds never looked so good. 😇Curious…meaning of “Roeán?”
If memory serves me, it’s an Irish name (pronounced Rowan). All their wolfhounds have had unusual Irish names.

Reoán means icing (like frosting) in Gaelic. When she was a “wee” pup, she had the cutest white line that encircled her snout that made it look like she stuck her whole snout in a can of store bought icing. My daughter wanted to name her “Frosting”, but there was no way I could hold a straight face while trying to train her, so we looked at foreign variants of the name. I won the 4 month long debate with this name! 😉
Oh yeah, I remember now. The silly pup has grown into a gigantic silly dog. Love her antics. Except for the pantry raids. LOL
Her XXL Halloween Baby Shark costume was too short to fit her properly. 😲

My pint-sized friend (not even 5′ tall and well over 70) adopted a retired greyhound. They are an odd sight but it works although he has been known to counter surf. Ate a whole blueberry pie once.
I’ve never heard of the 40 mph couch potato being called a counter surfer! That’s wild. They’re such sweet and docile dogs not known for mischief.
His mischief is tame and revolves around stealing food. This is her first dog and was recommended by a rescue group as being easy to manage. Except that they are similar in height (and closer in weight than you’d think), it works.
They do make nice pets, especially for the pint-sized and those new to owning a pet but as with all sight hounds, they can run like the wind. Your friend probably becomes a human kite often. 🤣
