Lulu: “Squiiiiiiiiiiiii—”
Charlee: “Lulu!”
Lulu: “—iiiiiiiii—”
Chaplin: “What’s going on?”
Charlee: “Lulu sees a squirrel and she’s yelling at it.”
Lulu: “—iiiiiiiiiiiii—”
Chaplin: “How long do you think she can keep going for?”
Charlee: “I don’t know. Could be a while.”
Lulu: “—iiiiiiiiiii—”
Charlee: “Maybe we should just take a nap until she finishes.”
Gurl, you seem awfully calm there!!!!! I would have been doin’, what Ma calls the ‘flying squirrel’ stance! (it’s when I pull and lunge so hard that my front leggies lift and spread out like a …you guessed it…a flying squirrel! BOL!!!!) Hey, if you needs backup just lets me know….I bets Norman is NO help in this kind of situation….🤣
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Are you kidding? Norman has taken up wingman status forElsa, helping out on squirrel hunts as well as protecting her from passing dogs who ‘for some strange reason’ aren’t fans of Elsa’s. 😆
oh and Cole caught one once… surprised all of us including the squirrel, maybe not Cole who knew how fast he was. I yelled drop! and he spat it out, it ran off, Cole got a rabies booster because of scratches though
The Poodle and his human concurs. These “tree rats” are mighty skilled poodle-taunters and even in his arthritic state, my boy will launch into hyper-drive in his quest to catch him a tree rat.
Add the 87-lb. slingshot on the other side and all bets are off for the my safety. None of us are fans, but especially me. I’ve been upended too many times hanging on for dear life. Doggone it, doesn’t seem fair those rats seem to enjoy all that taunting.
We love those little guys – we have a “bumper crop” of them this year too. Sitting on the porch there was a string of TEN squirrels that ran in a line right across our front yard! WILD!
Hugs, Pam (and Teddy too – who did not chase them!)
Ten in a row…yikes!! Elsa has a VERY high prey drive and encountering them sends her into orbit. I was barely able to keep her from catching this little thug who apparently has a death wish around dogs.

Lulu, you’re a bit like Elsa. Doggedly focused on those tree rats.
Thankfully we do not have this problem here and – to be honest – a Kangaroo is just too big and too powerful to mess around with…
🤣
Those two words led to Mr. Ron being pulled headfirst across a wooden fence by Chia over the weekend!
My sympathies to Mr. Ron, having been pulled down more than once during a squirrel chase.
She’s so little, I don’t understand how that could happen, other than his strength isn’t good from his other ailments. *sigh*
Whenever there are squirrels around, dogs seem to develop all kinds of ‘big-dog’ abilities.
What a cute squirrel! I’m so happy that Elsa is appreciating the beauty of suburban wildlife!
Umm, ‘appreciate’ might be a bit of an overstatement. Just saying.
Too bad you are attached to your walking string. Otherwise you might have gotten that tree rat.
It’s probably just as well. We’ve heard squirrels bite back.

Woof, WOOF! We would bark like that…
What rudeness to taunt you like that!
Rude indeed! Barking, snarling, flying, Elsa covers all the bases with that kind of rudeness!
That was one rash squirrel!
You know it!
Get him!!! We have one in our yard that is really bugging us.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
They are daring trouble-makers, aren’t they?
Mew me wmew guud one Elsa!
Tree Rat iss rite 😉
**purrss** BellaDharm an ((huggiess)) LadyMew
Hahahaha.
😈
It is not a tree rat, it is orava😋😋
😇
LOL!
Squirrels and Elsa have a love/hate relationship. They love to taunt her and she hates them. 😂
When I was a kid we had a cat who liked to lie around the backyard and he’d get it from the squirrels AND the blue jays!
Yikes…tag teaming just isn’t fair!
LOL!
Vile rodent. Good thing you have a Flexi-leash so Elsa can get close.
LOL…so THAT’S why Elsa has always wanted one?! 🤣
Elsa looks calm in the photo, but we bet that wasn’t truly the case! 🙂
No, calm and squirrels are never uttered when Elsa is in the picture.
Isn’t it time for one of your dogs to off that thing?
Trust me, it isn’t for lack of trying.
highly chase-able according to Milo

This morning’s adventure was the closest encounter of all. Silly squirrel wouldn’t go up high in the tree.
Most definitely! We think this guy had a death wish.
I see Elsa doesn’t care for tree rats either. Our Angel Little Bit loved to bark them up.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Scritches to the pups and a smooch to Norman. ♥
They drive Elsa in particular crazy. This guy was so close to ‘buying the farm.’

I call ’em rats with nice tails and guess he was feeling kamikaze this morn!
He was definitely playing with fire. Elsa loses her mind whenever there are squirrels around and I’m lucky she didn’t pull me down.
Oh damn! Yes, thank goodness she didn’t!

oh boy that was close… this guys have no respect…
This guy barely ran up the tree. I was stunned at his brazen attitude around the Jaws of Death. 🤣
