Monday Musings ~ October 10, 2022

Happy Columbus Day (or Indigenous People’s Day if you’re so inclined). Today is also World Mental Health Day. For the Ranch Hands, it’s more like “can’t we just sleep in a little longer today, Mum?”

Norman

While the Ranch Hands enjoy a couple of extra minutes of zzz’s, let’s enjoy a smile to start the day, courtesy of the Ninja.

Smile

While picking up scattered carcases toys over the weekend, I noticed more than a few missing ears and noses. I can only shake my head at this compulsion of hers. Now to find where she stashes her list  of victims.

Wishing you and yours a ‘pawsomely’ victorious day and week. Happy Monday.

Live, love, bark! 🐾

    1. No telling with her, though it’s more than likely those parts would be found in one of her 7 stomachs.

    1. You’re too kind. Thank you. Sorry for the delayed response to your kind comment. It’s been such a busy week, but wanted to say I so appreciate you. xxoo

  2. Lulu: “Isn’t every day ‘Can’t We Sleep For A Few More Hours Day’?”
Charlee: “Hmmm … Is there any possibility Elsa is transporting the missing stuffie parts and hiding them in our yard?”

    1. Ha…not likely…she usually eats the parts or if interrupted, will leave them away from the body as if she’s trying to mitigate the dissection and act like nothing happened.

  3. Teddy quit destroying things after he grew (literally) out of his kitten stage….now he uses his toys as pillows. Love the photo – nobody likes to “HAVE” to get up before a good snooze has been completed – – – even humans!

    Hugs, Pam

    1. Norman rarely ever covers his eyes with his paws (in addition to never chewing on anything). That pose seemed like a reaction to Monday if I ever saw one!

    1. Deserves might be an overstatement but I’m sure she’ll probably demand one any way. 🤣

  4. Thought of you guys today as we passed through Denver heading to the airport for our home flight.(We were leaf peepin’ in Aspen and all around the Indy Pass and Roaring Fork Valley for the last week.) Yup, amidst the swarms of Subarus and doodle doggies we definitely caught the whiff of OES and Spoo. Hope all’s well at the Ranch.

    1. Darn, sorry we missed you-could have met up as I have a brother in the Roaring Fork. Any good leaf viewing still or were they all gone? 🍁🍂🍁

  5. Benji would love to come and help your destructo-mode, Elsa…no use checking to find the missing arts, here, though…If petcretary isn’t fast enough to find them at the beginning of his kill em dead dismembering sessions, he eats them…UGH, and bad for the tummy, too. *she* finds most of them outside, if you know what that means, BOL!

    1. Yeah, Elsa has eaten her fair share of things as well. Nothing like realizing ‘that’ used to be a footlet before. 🙄

  6. Riley used to be terrible about deading stuffies, but since I bought him his own (at Goodwill) he loves them and won’t “hurt” them. Well, at least not his own, LOL! So Columbus Day has turned into Indigenous People Day. Is it still a national holiday?

    1. Not sure it’s a national holiday. My postal carrier delivered today. I think many of the indigenous tribes preferred a different reference since they are not fans of Columbus.

    1. An extra 40 winks is always good. That 40 winks of safety for the toys is no doubt greatly appreciated. 😄

  7. Zen is an “El Destructo” too! Doesn’t matter if it’s a stuffed toy, a rubber ball, a piece of furniture, or one of his daddy’s old – really old! – polo shirts. If something is even the least little bit destructible, Zen will find a way to destroy it. I have to watch him constantly to make sure he doesn’t end up with an obstruction in his gut!

  8. Awww, Norman is so handsome.

So Elsa is a destroyer of toys. So was our precious Angel Little Bit.

I linked this post to Awww Mondays.

Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches all around a smooch to Norman and a bit hug to mom. ♥

    1. Thanks for the link up, Sandee. Oh yes, Elsa has quite the reputation of destroying things. Her latest munch session was a new slicker brush. No idea why…the spines couldn’t have felt good but she managed to chew a couple of corners. Norman, being the angel he is just looks at her and rolls his eyes. 🤣 Happy Monday.

  9. You’re not alone Elsa! And M, I feel your toy box pain…. It doesn’t take long for my girls turn their squeaky toys into squeakless toys. Then they methodically pull out all the stuffing. Finally ripping the empty lifeless carcasses apart with a energetic round of tug-o-dawg! Have a quiet and squeakless week at the ranch.

    1. As a dog, she’s definitely a non discriminatory destroyer. The carcass might be in one part of the house, but the removed body part could be at the opposite end. She thinks she’s being clever, I think she likes to see me bend over multiple times to clean up after her. 🙄
