Anywho…mom kind of went off the reservation this weekend, holing up in her studio and making 87 bandanas. I don’t know what got into her. She said something about fabric being on sale. Whatever. One second she was catching up on blog posts and giving me ear scratches, then the next minute she was on all paws cutting fabric out. I tried to get her to let me help but she said I don’t have any thumbs and wouldn’t be of any assistance. Little does she know I didn’t want to help her with her project, I just wanted to get in the way while she was on the floor. Cuz that’s just the way I roll.
Naturally my goofball brother comes bouncing in about then and says, “Oooh, oooh…I’ll do the modeling!” I kind of ‘accidentally’ stepped on his tail then. Gosh, what a brown nose! The last thing he’d want to do is let mom dress him up the rest of the afternoon endlessly tying scarves around his neck and taking countless photos of him. Trust me, I did him a favor. You’re welcome, Knucklehead.
So he ‘reconsiders’ and says, “umm yeah, well maybe not all of them.” So, long story short, she has us pick out one. I mean, I’m super glad to have new scarves-I mean a girl can never have too many new clothes, right? But that whole walk down the paw-way while she’s trying to figure out which ones go best with our fur, umm…no thank you.

Those bandanas look adorable on both of you! Well done! Our Mama can get carried away when she goes to the fabric store too ;p But that is half the fun! We love bandanas over here and we find that when we wear ours, we make a lot of people smile 🙂

I’m not a great seamstress, but I can hem 3 sides of a bandana. Luckily the dogs aren’t too critical. 😊
We watched all the Bowl games and enjoyed each one. Bandanas are the only thing that I can sew. LOL!
And the best part of bandanas…no button holes. Woo-hoo. 🙂

Elsa, you should be more thankful for these gorgeous fashion accessories hand made for you and Sam by your loving Mom. I made my little girl a dress and I was so proud of myself but she’s much like you when it comes to having her photo taken and seems quite ungrateful. It’s important to remember that when someone makes something specially for you, they pour their love into it. It has a spiritual element. I know this is probably a lot for you to take in and Lady isn’t too keen on all my philosophizing. Says she’s a dog of little brain. That its all too much. Perhaps, Rosie was trying to take some notes when she was chewing through the pink highlighter pen and the ink burst everywhere.
Anyway, I also wanted to say that these bandanas could be a safety thing for dogs, especially when made from fabric which glows in the dark. We take our dogs for a walk when its quite dark and with lady being all black like you, it would be good for her to stand out better, even though it would make it harder for her to sneak around.
Anyway, I should be getting to bed.

Dear Rowena, thanks for dropping by and philosophizing. I think your Lady is pulling your paw by saying she’s a dog of little brain. We dogs have high intellect, how else can we outwit you uprights? Mom carries a torch when we walk at night to keep me safe but we’ll have to keep our eyes out for some cute glow-in-the-dark fabric. Have a good snooze!
I should take a torch and I should also be asleep. I make myself a mug of decaf tea before I go to sleep and it takes forever to cool down.
Well you know you could also try those mini-lights that clip to our collars. Mom also uses a lighted strip that wraps around her ankle and helps light the pathway.

LOL, no way. I think you’re right. Plus they have been doing it for a long time. You’re too funny, Dakota. Mom just can’t stand piles of unfinished work but I think she was a little overly enthusiastic with this project and totally got carried away at the fabric store. Our household was chewing our nails during that game and very thrilled with the outcome.

The kittens are too adorable. This year’s show was well produced and I loved they showcased pets beyond cats and dogs. That sloth was hilarious. So soulful looking, so sad it had to be rescued. Who keeps a sloth at their house??
People will keep anything as a pet, apparently. :-/

😊 Sam LOVES wearing bandanas (must be since he wears one when we go to the hospital and he gets very excited at the thought). They are so easy to make and there’s such a wide array of fabric out there, just calling out for every special pup.
Now it’s a matter of setting aside tons of other fun and not so fun projects to make the bandanas 😀

Great scarfs and a good but nerve wracking, finger biting game!
For a change, it WAS a good game. Not that it wasn’t a blow out for one team or the other. Now if NBC would only work on its announcers and not have a 30 second blackout spot. Was that wild or what?
Since we are local, we turn off the TV audio and listen to the local radio sports station announcers. They are more knowledgeable about the Philly players and do a great job with the game. They may be biased but they are honest too. Everyone thought Brady played great.
Certainly he’s a terrific player, but I was nearly convinced he was a god. Play on both sides of the field was good but Cris Collingsworth could not contain his man-crush.
