With multiple days of triple digits draining all of my energy, I thought a nice breezy day image watching the waves before they reach the shore might help my crispy- fried psyche. Just staring at this gets my mellow on. Well that and the fact that the air conditioning was on at oh-dark thirty this morning. Oh, to be able to walk on that beach. Sigh.
Can you picture the wind in your hair, the damp sand between your toes? How are you handling the dog days of summer?
Live, love, bark! 🐾
We are still in winter mode here so still cool to cold. After reading posts from a heatwave Europe and a triple digit Colorado, I am not looking forward much to summer here. I think it too will be a stinker. I am not sea and sand person, I am more snow covered winter mountains – Glen Coe or Glen Nevis
I’m with you. It’s easier to add layers to stay warm, but you can only go down so far before you’ll get arrested!
That’s what my son says “if it’s cold you can put more on, but if it’s hot there is only so much you can take off before you get arrested” :o)
You raised a very smart son 😊
boy am I ever glad I saved this to read later. I want to be there……………….NOW!!!!!!! Thank you for posting this!
My great pleasure 🥰
We have a windy day today so got the wind in the hair part Ha ha
hugs
Mabel & Hilda
Breezes are good when it’s not that pizza oven hot air. Stay cool.
All I can feel is the somewhat cool breeze of the AC in my hair, and the fuzzy feeling of shedded cat hair between my toes….
If that takes you away like Calgon, then I’d say go for it.
That DOES look inviting! After a couple of days in cool San Francisco…the next few weeks will be in the sweltering deep south with my parents…lots of air conditioning in my future!
We hope you are able to stay cool-it’s gonna be blistering for a while.
K. I am more than ready. Bags packed. Pick you up on my way, k?
💙You sweet temptress!
😀
I would enjoy a beach visit right now.
A breezy beach and a cold one sounds just about perfect. It’s gonna be 100 today. 🥵
Mom and I like the heat, but this is a little extreme even for us! We went to the park today and I walked mostly in the grass so I didn’t burn my feet. Mom said I was finally having common sense. #toohotforstreetnaps
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Wish I were a fan of the heat but it knocks me on my bum side. Stay safe and cool, Cupcake.
Yes, that looks like heaven!! As I’ve told you, we’ve been good here so far….but with heat indexes expected to reach 100 this weekend, I might be done!
We’re expecting 102 tomorrow but even with low humidity it will be very unpleasant. 🥵
Thank goodness for AC!
Boy, isn’t that the truth!
AC, lots o AC
Amen!
A/C all the way, but that water sure does look refreshing!!!
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber and Mom
It does, doesn’t it? Stay cool.
Thankfully, we have central air in our house. During the summer, the thermostat is set at 75F, and the blinds in the front of the house are partially to fully closed starting around noon. With the heat/humidity we’ve had these last few days, Ducky hasn’t wanted to stay outside much more than we have, so that’s a blessing. This morning was actually comfortable enough to sit outside for a couple of hours before I took her to daycare. Now it’s hot again. Sigh.
Naturally in low humidity Colorado, we have swamp coolers and mine was cranking at 7:15 this morning. Even at 5:49 it was near 75. Yup, 5:49 AM!!! The sun was barely up. Miss Elsa isn’t keen on being out in the bright sun on days like today-gotta feel badly for black dogs this time of year. We dashed over to the library before 6 am to return a book and dashed between tree shade like Wily Coyote.
Love it! I live near the beach but with all the crowds of people here it’s better to stay at home sometimes. 🙁
Beach walks tend to be tailor made for early risers when crowds are still snoozing 😉
Yes! And they are a must to find parking here in SD.
Parking is bad everywhere it seems. *sigh* I keep moving more toward bicycling and walking than driving which always makes me want to set my hair on fire in Denver since the infrastructure is so jammed with millennial and Über drivers.
I always thought Denver was better than SoCal when it came to the roads…but I did move 5 years ago and I know you’ve had quite a boom there. It’s hard living in a trendy city!
The limited roads can’t take all the day to day wear and tear. I sat through a light the other day for 4 cycles trying to make a left hand turn. 👿#toomuchtraffic
Six months from now you’ll be complaining about the freezing weather. Here we only have to complain about the heat.
I don’t really mind the cold or snow, only wind.
YES YES YES Monika!!! Take me with you!!!! 🙂
((hugs)) Sherri-Ellen & **purrsss** BellaDharma
You got it!
LOL we are packed Monika!!! 🙂
🐬🔥🔥🐬
I can feel the joy! Well, almost.
I just want to be able to feel a nice cool breeze!
How about sitting on that beautiful beach with an umbrella and a cooler full of Corona. I can see it now. I love that shot!
I’ll bring the limes!
The ocean looks divine.
I handled the heat with a nice run this morning, because I am a glutton for punishment. But seriously, the run brings my body temp down for the rest of the day. Nothing feels as hot as that cauldron I put myself through this morning.
Running in the heat would cause me to evaporate. Or explode. #notarunner
LOL!
The thing I love about it is, I feel like I really accomplished something. I just have to be mindful, unlike this morning when I gulped some water after the run and immediately felt nauseous. That’s a no-no, to gulp.
If I wanted to accomplish something, I’d paint the living room with a frog hair brush. THAT’S an accomplishment! LOL, seriously though, I tip my hat to anyone who can run in the heat. 🏃🏽♂️I know my limitations.
LOL! A frog hair brush, eh? I think you win. 😉
I said it was an accomplishment. Kudos to you for walking the run, er running the walk, er for moving, moving, moving!
Moving! Yes, I don’t think what I was doing was akin to running. It was more like walking really fast with the intent of not falling down.
Me…I’d be melting. Into a big fat puddle. 🤣
I “punished” myself for having Mickey D’s yesterday. Today was not my running day, but I made myself go out for the transgression, LOL.
My idea of a transgression is a Corona without the lime. Hahaha
Buahahahaha! I’ll drink to that! 🙂
🍺
🙂
OOH beach take me away! 🙂 I do love the bright sunshine, compared to the dreary days of winter though, its just that humidity that does you in!
Luckily humidity is rarely a problem here. But the intensity of hot temps when we’re a mile high in elevation…that’s a whole ‘nutter level of intensity.
I can see that!
Going to the beach in September, counting down! LOL!
So jealous!
Come join me!! 🙂
If only I could!
It would be great!
You and I did the same thing today. Take me somewhere less hot. Great minds.
Have a fabulous day, my friend. ♥
Stay cool if at all possible!
You remind me that I am due for an ocean visit to renew my body and soul with the eternal vastness of it all.
Enjoy that visit for us! #sojealous
Mom and I love the beach and we always go for strolls early in the morning or in the afternoon. In summer we go very early because it can get very hot and she says it’s not good for me in the heat. But the weather at this stage is nice and cool. Just the way I like it. 😀
Mom and I just LOVE the photo of the beach that you posted. We think it’s a stunning capture. 😀
Lots of wet kisses to you, Sam and Elsa. 😘😘😘💕💕💕
Thanks, Rambo. The one thing missing from Colorado is the beach. And on these hot days, a early morning stroll on the beach would be so welcome.
I lived on the beach for twelve years. Loved the feeling of the sand and water. We just moved to the city suburbs. Love the peace and quiet which was hard to find at the beach.
There is something quite calming with the pounding surf. While I do like the quiet, walking on the beach would be so incredibly lovely. Happy new neighborhood.
I loved the surf noise. It was always there.
Those crashing waves are surprisingly soothing.
I now have an occasional motorboat sound. Lots of cardinals.
Are you near a lake now?
Yes. Lake Travis in the Austin area.
Whoa…now that’s a piece of water with change! Good for you. My sis lives in Bastrop. 😊
Small world.
Our town is Lakeway
Small world indeed. You’re more north west where she’s sorta south east from Austin.
Yup. Thanks, Monika.
We pant a lot at the Golden K. It helps…. 🙃
I may have to try that next. 😇
We have moved into a high heat/humidity weather pattern yesterday. I am hosting a large family reunion in a week and starting to question my choice of date. We’ve done it when it was super hot and no one wants to move. No one eats much either. June was rainy and damp. August is iffy. There is no reliable good date. Wish I could rent a plane and take everyone to this beach for the party. Pass the lemonade.
The heat definitely requires some lemonade. Maybe with a spot of vodka. Good luck. While the heat may be brutal here, at least the humidity is barely in the low teens.
Our humidity is never in the low teens. We consider it good if it’s 50. We are bumping 80 (oppressive).
Awk! I’d evaporate in that heat index.
We are more liquid.
oooh yes… or to sleep on a beach after a wild party and… oh wait that’s not good lOL
LOL, well…it could be, depending on who showed up at your party. 🤣
