Monday Musings ~ April 27, 2020

Good morning, peeps. It’s the day (once known as Monday) where, if you’re under mandatory shutdown/isolation orders, you might roll over and go back to sleep. To those of you who are essential or whose states/countries are loosening up restrictions, we want to provide you first, with our thanks, and then a smidge of motivation to face a new week.

Monday

We hope you stay safe and happy today, while making it a pawsome week.

Live, love, bark! 🐾

  1. I rolled over anyway. It was raining and all me a woos if you wish, but I don’t go out walking a dog during heavy rain. \We did go out later, during the rain bands.

    1. Don’t blame you; dogs (and peeps) do not like rain-the sound of rain hitting the ground hurts their ears. Getting a few 💤 sounds like a good plan till the weather improves.

        1. Lucky you. We moved straight to summer. 🥵Poor Norman with his fur coat; we’ve taken to walking in the dark at night.

  2. Germany has losening up yesterday, we didn’t know that, because we don’t listen to the news anymore, but when we went out to do our weekly shopping in Germany I felt like an ant between an anthill. I’ve never seen so much people on the road, and in the supermarket since 6 weeks. I had a foretaste how it’s going to be when we’re losing up…🙈😸Clean Pawkisses for a Happy Tuesday. Stay Safe Healthy and Yourselfie🙏🐾😽💞

    1. That’s too bad but thin that’ll happen here too. People are just too impatient for this all to go away and will probably jump the gun. Had to go to the post office yesterday and some bozo in front of me wore no mask and kept getting too close to the person in front of him. 😬This after a minor easing of restrictions by the state governor (but the mayor still has things tightened down until May 8).

  3. I am trying hard to resist rolling over and going back to sleep, I could see it becoming a habit! Luke wants me to be up at regular time anyway, so his breakfast is timely. 🙂

    1. Thank goodness I HAVE to get up early to dose Elsa on time, otherwise, I’d probably catch a few more winks myself. But some mornings, it’s all I can do to drag my sorry self up.

  4. LOVE LOVE LOVE that graphic……one foot in front of the other – we must carry on – thankfully I have a calendar right here by my computer and it keeps me somewhat oriented otherwise I’d be wandering aimlessly through the countryside! HAHAHA

    Hugs, Pam

    1. Tell me about it! Being retired can disrupt one’s sense of days anyway, but with the shutdown, every day is the same. Thank goodness for calendars!

  5. Oh, I hopes you guys are stayin’ safe. And I hopes those peeps who are goin’ out mingling, DO do it safely. I picture that lasting maybe a few days or a week, then peeps will just go back to what they are used to. close, and in eachother’s space. sigh. We are gonna be on lockdown for another month or so. All the Western Governor’s are on the same page, luckily. Butts now we got some nimrods gonna go ‘protest’ (I say ‘protest’ cause it has nothing to do with nothin’ except politics. sigh). Wouldn’t care if they were gonna stay together and not mingle with the rest of us! BOL!
Anyhu, off track, sorry ☺ STay safe my furiends, and try and stay sane for however long we gots to keep doin’ this!
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥

    1. We’re laying very low with masks and very socially distant. No plans to do anything else for the foreseeable future either. And I’ll be wearing hats-lots of hats too 😂

  6. You notice how the days of the week tend to stick together unless you make it a point to recognize them? So . . what I’m saying is, your post is much appreciated. 🙂

  7. Thanks for the encouragement. With lots of rain overnight into the early morning hours, it really was a good morning to sleep in. But Mom is an early bird, rain or shine:)

  8. Our governor has loosed our restrictions (he’s republican) but no so with our democratic city mayor. We, however, are out in the county, not inside of city limits. But that doesn’t help if we wanted to do something like a movie or dancing, or whatever (not that we do). You keep staying safe, too.

    1. Movies? They fell into the haircut bucket. Haven’t done one of those in FOREVER either. And it shows. 😉 #thankgoodnessforhats

    1. Know too many of them-it is really sad and hope they can make it through these strange times.

  9. Happy Monday to you! You are so right, hard to keep track of the days! Thanks for the smile and hope you and Elsa and Norman have a great week!

    1. Every day above ground will be great. Sure beats the alternative! Hoping yours is equally pawsome.

  10. A wise ex-supervisor once told me that when you’re retired, every day is Saturday. Well, I revised that to “every day except Sunday is Saturday.” Doesn’t seem much different to me now, especially with video call doctor appointments!

    1. Exactly…even though I too no longer work, days seem to have less definition since the shutdown. The only day I am certain of anymore is trash pickup day. I can hear that truck for blocks. 🤣 If I go deaf, I’ll be in big trouble!

      1. I hadn’t thought about trash day but you’re right. Still, a long time ago – when I was still living on Long Island – we had Saturday trash pick up.

        1. Mine used to be Monday’s for years, then they moved it to Wednesday. Luckily I learned to adapt to that new day fairly quickly. Nobody like smelly trash for days on end, especially me! 😆

    1. Snouts up…haha…love it! I’ll remind Elsa, she thinks she’s some sort of tracker along the walk these days.

    1. Yup…my first activity of the day is to check the calendar and tell me what day it actually is. They all are a blur anymore.
