Monday Musings ~ April 12, 2021

A conversation over the weekend.

Mum: Norman, it looks like you’re blowing your undercoat. I’m finding your hair EVERYWHERE.

Norman: Relax mum, that’s not dog hair, it’s canine confetti.

Norman

Mum: 🤦🏼‍♀️ {Facepalm}

Here’s to a ‘pawsome’ week. No doubt ours will be  accompanied with probably more than a little ‘confetti.’

Live, love, bark! 🐾

    1. Thanks. We think it’s super important to start the week out with a smile. Who can’t smile with dogs?

  1. Yup, you clean it all up, and it spontaneously reappears as soon as you get back into that one you just vacuumed!! LOL!
Benji is like Pig-pen (Charlie Brown), a cloud surrounds him all the time!
Dalton sheds, too, but he=is fur is like little daggers that pierce through everything and then you cannot remove it unless you pick put each individual bit…um…we’ll just have more insulated clothing, LOL!

Somewhere I heard about a lady who takes furs from our pets and needleworks them into mini pets. Now that is recycling/repurposing in the best way!

    1. Egad, you mean I’d end up with two dogs the size of a moose? Norman and his recycled brethren? Yikes! 😆

                1. If it’s any consolation even with extensive brushing, Norman is a hair shedding factory.

                  1. Not really…Zeke is a tumbleweed factory. But I’ll not complain… I won’t be picking up for all that much longer. 😔

                    1. 😁 Righto! The tumbleweed comment really tickled me since spring is tumbleweed season in Colorado. They go hand in hand with windy conditions.

                    2. Life is definitely a ‘wash, rinse, repeat’ cycle if you’re trying to keep up.

    1. That’s spot on! Pet hair is just another kind of magnetic fiber full of love and joy.

  2. While all my cats shed (especially now), Gus seems to have boar bristles. They knit into things and you can’t get them out. The ends are pointy too! Argh! I wonder if I could sell it?

    1. There’s gotta be a need somewhere. My son’s German Shorthair Pointer had fur like Gus. There is still his signature confetti woven into the carpet of the car even after more than 10 years of heavy duty vacuuming.

  3. OH YES! You knows, Ma used to find Angel Panda’s hairs WOVEN into her clothes! she never understood how that happened, butts it did! BOL! Nothin’ betters than OES confetti!!! Plus, it makes FABulous pillow stuffin’!!! 🤣
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥

    1. Maybe I should start saving it to stuff into toys that get ‘redesigned’ by the Ninja. 😆

  4. Benji sheds constantly. Annabell makes the complaint and I get the fun of clearing it up. Benji – he just stays in his bed and supervises. Personally, I think he is playing this “Need looking after” thing for all it’s worth.. :o)

    1. Streamers! Love it. A friend reminded me it’s not dog hair, it’s magnetic fibers of love and joy. I think they were spot on.

    1. Spring is no longer the season of flowers, it’s becoming the season of heavy confetti! 🤣

    1. Whether it’s confetti or magnetic fibers of joy and love, there is certainly a bunch of it!

    1. I don’t feel as bad sweeping up confetti. I mean, who doesn’t love confetti? 🎉

    1. Elsa said something snarky like, “see I told I was better than that gigantic fur ball,” to which Norman promptly stole her new toy. 😈

  5. When my husband was going in to the office (remember those days?) he had a pile of fur that traveled with him and collected at his office desk. He used to joke that he took the dogs to work with him.

    1. With Sam and Elsa, I had forgotten about the confetti aspect of owning a pet. On the other hand, it’s nice to be able to take our pets with us wherever we go. 😇

  6. Hey Norm! Wanna laugh? Watch my Mom with her vacuum now I am shedding like crazy. I’ll soon have my Spring coat. Dad says my fur gets everywhere, including places I don’t go like in the furnace thingy. Oh and he just reorganized a room a little and was amazed at how much of my fur was in the corners behind the furniture. They’re really slow in catching on ‘cos this happens throughout the year although I do peak in the Spring! Double layer coats are not only lovely and warm in the Winter, but they give us lots of laughs at the humans’ expense eh! Woof! Ray

    1. You’re so right, Ray. Changing one’s thoughts on something like canine confetti as opposed to dog hair is helping me cope a bit better. That or I’m becoming a lazy housecleaner which is probably more than likely. 🤣

  7. I have a friend that calls dog hair a condiment. I like your take too, Norman. I’m linking this post to Awww Mondays.

Have a woof woof day and week, Norman. Scritches to Elsa a big smooth to you and a hug to your wonderful mom. ♥

    1. Bwahahaha…condiment. That’s hilarious! Loads of tail and butt wiggles from the Ranch hands.

    1. It’s always good to ‘take your dog with you’ wherever you go. Happy Monday.

    1. Guess we’ll both be stocking up on vacuum bags. 🤣 Having had poodles who don’t shed for so long, I had ‘forgotten’ about the confetti.
