Hardly a cloud in sight. We had a couple of those last week during the heat wave, which makes it harder to appreciate lol. But, nothing like a clear blue sky with some refreshing breezes blowing. That photo is relaxing and refreshing.
Living in Colorado I’m kinda spoiled with loads of sunshine and clear blue skies. We’re known for 300 days of sunshine here but you’re right, on hot sunny days you’d give just about anything for a cloud or two. 😉
Roatán, Honduras. I came across some images on a photo card that for some reason didn’t get downloaded after using the big camera over the weekend at the Dragon Boat Festival. Seeing that image I was transported back to a beautiful and peaceful place. I needed some zen and that seemed to fill the fill. Happy mid-week.
I wanna go back. I feel like I saw nothing 🙂 Isn’t that something when we “find” pictures we took but didn’t see?
A friend of mine is a dragon boat racer and he is in Florida right now… or was, where they won two golds, two silvers and a bronze. So happy for him.
I need some zen…

Going early I probably missed a lot, but saw some interesting things/people/dogs including a boat maned by a number of handicapped people and was so inspired by their enthusiasm. Hopefully a post for next week’s Nature Friday blog hop. 🤞🏼
We can only see so much when it’s one stop on a cruise. I figure that is what cruises are best for – to give you a sample and some places you can return one day and fully explore.

It’s very true. I always try to do a spot of exploring apart from the cruise offered tours. We were lucky, our guide took us to the ‘real’ parts of the isle, not the spiffed up & polished tourist traps. It made for a much better and realist experience.
We never take the cruise-offered tours preferring to look up the locals and see what they offer. As a result, when on Tortola, we got Walla and were taken to Pirate’s Cove whereas the rest of the peeps were at the closes beach. The experience was the highlight of the whole cruise! He was so good, we told friends to look for him on their cruise. And they found him 🙂
Aren’t guides like that fabulous?! They can make an entire trip that much better and worth their weight in gold. We used a family run company and the son was a soccer phenome. It seemed like everyone knew him and adored him as much as we did.
The best! He stopped and picked up plants and gave instruments to the kids and we tasted tamarind, cacao, some iffy-pissy-looking liquid, then we were brought to a BBQ by the beach (chicken and stuff) with generator-empowered blenders to have real pina coladas with fresh coconut and pineapple… We are STILL talking about it 🙂
How cool is that? It’s stories like that that makes those kinds of travel experiences so impactful and noteworthy!
Oh, absolutely! On our first cruise with the kids (all 8 of them plus 2 friends’) all the ship trips had ben cancelled for “high waves”. No problem whatsoever to go swim with the rays with the local boys! 🙂
Wow! When you get lemons, sometimes you have to be creative when making lemonade.
It wasn’t even a little sour for us. Yes, the waves were nuts but they brought us way out into a cove and there a gazillion (at the very least ;- ) Course, I had to hold onto my little lard-arse, who was only 5 and couldn’t touch the bottom, while my husband held the eldest, almost 7. My arm was like lead after!
Now that’s a memory for all the ages.
I have to say, there are so many. I really should create some sort of book of things like that.
Talk about a legacy in print!

My boat will be arriving shortly and we’ll go for a cruise together. Bring the pups.

This feels like it could be a reset button. I’m not completely certain but . . . okay, I am completely certain this is where you go to reset. Mmmmm.
Oh yes, this was one of the best reset days on that trip. Just look at that water!
