Today is a “howliday” in the US and for many, it’s part of a long weekend. But today and tomorrow Sam and I will be working at the hospital which can only mean one thing. There’ll be a seal in my bathroom. And then, lots of hugs and tail wags.

  3. Sand Spring Chesapeakes – Cambria, WI – My husband and I have six "furry" children Gambler, Glory, Guilty, Slammer, Gertie and one cat Bones and two furangel's Norman and Nellie. We breed Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. We are both avid hunters. We also enjoy competing with our dogs in hunt tests and field trials. That is where you can find us during the trial months which are April-September. When were not at a trial we are busy training our dogs. We go snow goose hunting in Canada each year and do all the hunting that Wisconsin offers.

  5. My Golden Life – Upstate South Carolina – I love animals, especially dogs. I enjoy US history, and reading biographies of our former presidents and other historical figures. I love the music of the '60s and '70s since I was growing up in those decades. I love the Beatles and Andy Williams equally.

  8. CC – Cristina is Italian born, and though she has lived most of her life all over the U.S. she considers herself Italian...she just can't speak it very well! As with many other things, she is working on that (although it's a bit harder the older she gets). Still, there are just so many hours in a day. After leaving the lovely climes of Southern California she went to the heat, humidity, and insect-infested state of Alabama. She struggled for five years to be a "big girl" amidst the crickets-on-steroids, the snakes, scorpions, and other creepy crawlers of the day (and night!). It really is true what they say; "It's a jungle out there!" After another stint in Northern Virginia she is trying once again to find a new normal (as well as some bliss) in her new state, Florida. Cristina is happily married to a loving husband and has two grown children. Her medium-standard poodle love crossed the rainbow bridge in 2023 but he remains forever in her heart.

    Not a holiday for hubby who is away on business travel. It’s just bum-not- working-moi and The Poodle who enjoyed a long President’s Day walk and then covered his ears (seriously) when his beloved “mom” was listening to the latest Trump news. Poodles are…after all…Einstein smart.

    In Canada only parts have a holiday today. In the province we live there was no holiday, but in the province Lady officially works, it was, but since she had a lot to do and works for herself she worked from home.

    Well it’s not a howliday here in sunny South Australia – pity.. Nothing much planned. Will be about 34c tomorrow so depending on how things are I might go for a drive with Benji – the beach and Ice Cream might be the go. I know, I overindulge the boy but he does get plenty of exercise and together we walk about 60+ kllm. a week.
