Wordy Wednesday

SnowHappy pre-Thanksgiving Day. As many of you know, Denver was hit with a gigantic storm yesterday that buried the city with a foot of snow. It prevented Sam and I from doing our hospital visits and has us pretty much confined. It did however allow me to enjoy my favorite blizzard beverage, hot chocolate. With Schnapps and whipped cream. We are warm and fine if not a bit stir crazy. It’s too cold and deep to take the dogs for their usual walks and apparently not possible for Sam to use the dog run to relieve himself beyond the occasional pee over Elsa’s spots in the freshly created pee-atio in the dog run. Elsa however could practically pee or poop on command but Sam is nothing, if not discerning about where he goes. I have to chuckle about his refusal to not poop in the run, but know if I scooped out a square over at my neighbor’s house, he’d drop a log in a heartbeat.

Where the heck will Friday’s snow go?

We wish all of our US readers a day filled with good cheer, good food and a football win tomorrow. To all of our readers, we will spend the day staying warm, cozy and being grateful for your digital friendship and good company every week. 1. It’s not been such a bad year thus far. Indeed I may have to rethink plans that I had for the end of this year. Your beverage looks and sounds good and I hope you and all at the Ranch have a great day. Football —– would that be the Broncos??

    1. Too embarrassed to say. 🤣 They’re pretty horrible (again) this year. I’m more interested in hockey anyway.

  2. You can’t trust your precious poop to just anywhere. I have newspaper at the bottom of my cage and I aim for politicians-any one will do.

  3. There’s something seriously amiss with all this. I mean all the artwork I have seen as well as the clipart show the pilgrims and the Indians together, fine day, cloudless sky and no snow. Did the artists get it all wrong???

    1. Ooh…another outa the ballpark beverage. Nice choice. Now I’ll have to go out and get some. 😉

  4. That looks yummy! A friend of mine is visiting her son in Denver right now. I bet she’s not impressed!! LOL
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

    1. She probably enjoyed the crystal blue skies this morning. Hope your friend enjoys her visit. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Luke.

    1. It’s on its way eastward with another storm heading here on Friday which we’ll promptly send to you. 😇

  5. Being snowed in is fun…. for a while! I am with Sam on the topic of pooping in snow. Mom always tells me I’m going to get sick, but I don’t. Usually the snowblower guys at out apartment complex make us doggies an adequate exposed grass area or two before anything turns ugly. Happy Thanksgiving!

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

    1. Even scooping out a large “pee-atio” area won’t convince Sam to go in the run. Crazy knucklehead. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your mom.

    1. We are safe, cozy and very grateful. We’ll go back next week and spread our special brand of joy so all will be good. Wishing you and yours a ‘wagnificent’ Thanksgiving, Frank!

  6. Holiday beverages are definitely compliment the snow and wintery weather. We got about 5 inches of powder at the Golden K last night and it is still coming down. Hunkering down will be the activity of choice for the next few days. And of course the bird…

  7. It is occasionally irritating to live in the Bible belt, but better than the Snow belt! Your beverage sounds like just the thing. Since I’m trying to stay away from sugar, I’ll have to leave out the hot chocolate and whip cream for me. What flavor schnapps did you use. (I love schapps.)

  8. Yikes, that’s a lot of snow. Our Little Bit hated the snow. We only took her once and she was not happy. We finally had some rain here last night and it was wonderful. So much dust blowing around and now it’s gone.

Have a fabulous Wordy Wednesday and Thanksgiving. Scritches to the pups. ♥

    1. Hopefully that rain will help with the fires too. 🤞🏼The dogs loped through the snow this morning as I laughed my head off watching Elsa run and munch snow at the same time. Too funny. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

  9. It hasn’t snowed here since 1960 but a rain storm kind of stops all activity,

We celebrate Thanksgiving with pizza and football.

  10. Oh My! Hot chocolate with Schnapps and whipped cream?! That sounds too yummy for words!!

We, too, are thankful for our digital friends/connections, including you, Sam, and Elsa of course! Have a great Thanksgiving! Will you be able to get to your Mom’s house tomorrow?

    1. We’re stranded since I can’t get the car out of the garage into the alley-there’s more than a foot and my little car would get high centered before we even reached the street where we’d slide on the ice. But with blizzard beverages like that and plenty of dog food, we’ll be just fine. Happy Thanksgiving to you with ear rubs for your precious ‘fur-mily.’ 💙

    1. It’s probably moving back your way.😊 Stay warm and have a very wonderful Thanksgiving.

    1. Heh, heh…my mom didn’t raise an ordinary fool when it comes to winter storms. Hot chocolate for me, the Iditarod for the Knuckleheads. 🤣Happy Thanksgiving, Marc.

  11. Oh my goodness… and WE are in the great white north, right? We’ve got a whole lotta nuthin’
And good grief is Sam precious! Too funny.
Enjoy your snow day. That hot chocolate looks divine!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

    1. This is truly bizarre November weather. I’m told another storm is arriving on Friday. Luckily there’s plenty of peanut butter, bread and dog food in the house while we wait for warmer days. At least today we have gorgeous blue skies to accompany the teen temps.

        1. Clear blue sunny skies just make me feel better (and warmer…even if it’s currently only 16ºF). As for Thanksgiving I was planning on traveling to my parents but that trip was put on hold for a while. My car is stuck in the garage since any attempt to leave it would result in it being high centered-alley access to the street is more than a foot deep. 😳

          1. It does, doesn’t it?
Ahhh. that is such a bummer… Long live snow-removal companies!! Which I have and will always find a way to afford, quite frankly…

            1. I live on a corner lot. Doing the sidewalks is enough for me. I’m not shoveling out the alley on top of it. Not in this lifetime!

  12. Cole held it nearly 24 hours once in MD, finally going in our neighbor’s driveway when I refused to let him back in the house, We had about 2 feet of snow and had tunnels to walk through from shoveling. DH walked Milo this time, and because of some drifts and big trees, Milo was able to find a place to go. It’s a mess out there, and I can’t help but think your hot cocoa plan would make it much easier to cope with!

    1. The “Best Blizzard Beverage” is the absolute pawfect way to cope with a big storm. Stay warm and have yourselves a very Happy Thanksgiving.

    2. Had to take the Knuckleheads out for a very abbreviated walk. Took Sam three blocks before nature allowed him to move his bowels. Elsa loped like a jack rabbit in the snow-she loves it. And I totally recommend the Blizzard Beverage in this weather. Stay warm and have a super ‘howliday.’
