Four months ago today, a certain House Pony arrived at the Ranch by way of a foster agreement with the Red River Old English Sheepdog Rescue. That Pony, now known as Wilson, was later officially adopted and has become a larger than life Ranch hand. He continues to adapt to city life. One thing for certain though, he is decidedly not a fan of the Sciuridae family of rodents, otherwise known as squirrels. It only seems appropriate that we share today’s ‘public service announcement’ from the National Park Service while smiling. Squirrels vex Wils. His strong commitment to ridding the world of these vexing critters is front and center as he continues to adapt to city life, coincides with his ability to turn me into a kite. Yet his efforts to combat their judgy ways remains thwarted.

Stay upright and keep smiling on a Happy Monday.
Live, love, bark! 🐾
Give em heck my man! What a handsome boy.
Thanks, Marc. He’s a keeper.
🙂
Awww, such a wonderfully handsome guy! Happy squirreling!
Gah…bite your tongue. Squirreling means being turned into a kite and I’m too old and brittle for that. LOL
We are right there with you, Wilson! We deaded one once, too, wow, petcretary wasn’t too happy though, we are not sure why, cause they ruin all her stuff lots of times. We were trying to help.
A few days ago *she* saw all the tulip plants had been broken down…all at the exact same height…and the flowers/seed parts were gone…that was more squirrel work. She thinks they dug up al the bulbs she had, because we used to have a lot more…sigh…
Yikes! That is sooo uncool. Sounds like your squirrels are serious hoodlums.
Lulu: “SQUIRREL!!!”
Wilson: WHERE??!! I’ll get that bugger!
Our Angel Little Bit hated tree rats. She knew where everyone of the lived too. Wilson is such a cutie pie.
I linked this post to Awww Mondays.
Have a fabulous day and week, my friend. Scritches to the pups. ♥
Thanks Sandee. My first sheepdog remembered ever spot he encountered squirrels or other critters and always stopped to double check. Wilson is starting to do that now too. Whoever said dogs were dumb didn’t have one who hated tree rats!
We should all get together as we are nuts for squirrels too and Mom has lots of tree hugger pics of us trying to get a squirrel in the tree. Glad you are settling into your new home.
Thanks. Elsa used to despise them too though after her leg surgery she doesn’t seem to care much. Wilson will definitely make up for her lack of enthusiasm. 🤣 We should start a team extermination squad.
Wilson is a handsome boy.
Maddie was comfortable with squirrels, and they with her. They came closer to us when we were out with her (she always had to be on a leash). The leash wouldn’t even be taunt. They would walk up, we’d give them a peanut and they’d go on their way. If we didn’t see them, she’d look at us as if to say, “This guy needs a peanut.”
You’re very gracious about these critters. In my neighborhood, they are hoodlums, having chewed through my kitchen screen on 3 separate occasions over the years and eating various items on the counters and broken herb planters knocked over. Perhaps I’ve channeled my personal feelings on to Wilson who continues to chase these guys with enthusiasm that they don’t seem to comprehend. Then again, the jaws of death aren’t exactly an invitation to become BFF’s. 🙂
I might feel differently if they had broken in. I’m sure Wilson is a good deterrent.
There’s no questioning as to what he thinks of the furry rodents.
Squirrels are horrid creatures. XO
Ahhh, finally someone who agrees with us. Most people say “oh, they’re so cute.” Trust me when they chew through your window screens and break into your house, the cuteness (if there ever was any) evaporates quickly. 😈
Go Wilson GO! Yore THE cutest Pony….umm Poochie…..
~~~head rubss~~~BellaDharma~~~ an (((hugss))) BellaSita Mum
Aww, thanks, BellaDharma. I’m glad things are working out for Wilson; he deserves a good live and hopefully we can provide that for him. We hope you’ve had a great Monday.
Keep up the good work, Wilson! 🙂
Thanks. He’s a very clever dog; just wish he didn’t out smart me sometimes. LOL Happy Monday.
You are so lucky that Wilson adopted you!! (That’s how it works – they pick us and we are sooo lucky !!)
Happy Monday!
That’s totally true! Hope you have a great Monday, too.
Twiggy is vexed by one cheeky squirrel who runs along the top of the fence. She would join Wilson in a heartbeat to bark them all to St. Louis. Loved the park service sign.
Those buggers are the worst-they seem to know they can’t be reached. Bloody devils!
So true
What a comical park service you have. 🙂 Fun sign.
Yay for Wilson!!! So glad you guys found each other and a huge thank you for your sweet card!! <3 <3 Meant alot. Your halo is shining. 🙂
You’re too sweet Hope the card brought a measure of comfort to you and the family.
The Park Service note is a hoot……! Clever…… Wilson is the most clever of all though – arriving as a foster and being so adorable he was made a permanent member of the family. WAY TO GO WILSON!
Hugs, Pam
Aww, that’s so sweet of you to say, although I kind of have to agree on Wils’ adorable quotient. Have a super-duper Monday!
I had a cat that hated squirrels. She chased them (never caught one) relentlessly. They would chatter at her. I think they said, “na na na na na you can’t catch me” (in a singsong chirp).
Wouldn’t surprise me in the least. I’m convinced they hold grudges. Happy Monday.
You are the only person that says, “Happy Monday,” and I think that is wonderful. Happy Monday!!
Right back atcha, Marcella. Mondays tend to be associated with going back to work and not always in the best of light. We want people to start the week on a ‘pawsitive’ note.
I think that’s a wonderful idea ☺️
I love the caution sign.
It’s always good keeping track of one’s feet and where they’re planted. 😉 Happy Monday.
The Red Girls share and appreciate Wilson’s commitment to ridding their respective territories of these pesky rascal squirrels. They will push East and Wilson to push West and they will meet you on the Utah/Nevada state line for a victory eradication celebration. The struggle is real… 😂
Count us in! Happy Monday. Digital ear rubs for the exterminators. 😉
And back atcha for the Ranch Hands.
💙
It looks and sounds like Wilson is more than capable of taking on any and all judge-y squirrels. If people do wind up seeing you airborne in kite formation monitoring Wilson you could just yell down to those witnesses “I meant to do this.”😁
Bwahahahaha! Knowing the gigantic splat when I landed, no one will believe that. LOL
“faceplanting in front of a group of judgmental squirrels.” How hilarious! Happy Monday and week to you, Wilson and of course, Elsa!
No one wants to faceplant but especially not in front of judgmental squirrels. 🤣 Here’s wishing you a ‘fur-bulous’ Monday.
Love the National Park Service PSA. Too funny!! Wilson is very lucky to have found such a wonderful home, even if Mom won’t let him hunt squirrels.
They have a clever team of social media folks and always make me smile. With each day of the past 4 months, Wilson’s distain for squirrels has grown. Not sure why, but he really seems to despise them. Some days I just have to hold on for dear life! Happy Monday.
He needs a jet pack for those squirrels…
Trust me, he’s more than fast enough…it’s the ballast at the end of the leash that limits his ability to get at them. 😉 Best wishes for a conflict free Monday.
And squirrels are SO judgemental. I’m with Dale — Go get ’em Wilson!
Figured out my WordPress problem. Thanks!
Among other things. Neither Wilson nor I are fans but at least I don’t try to turns others into a kite to get at them.
So glad to hear you were able to resolve your WP issues. Life is hard enough without having to deal with WP issues. 😉 Happy Monday.
Go get ’em Wilson!!! Four months already… man oh man…
I know, right? Where did the time go? Happy Monday.
Happy Monday to you!
