Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Sam here. Although our lineage is German, we happily (ok, not so happily but we were tolerant) participated in the ‘wearing of the green’ for St. Patrick’s Day for mom’s sake. We had to work fast, Elsa tried hard to eat the garland. The parade and official celebration were last weekend, but any one knows that St. Patrick’s Day on a Friday will surely have some corned beef and cabbage along with a beer or two for local leprechauns.

Got any special plans for this holiday? Erin Go Bragh. ☘️ Here’s to a great weekend!

  1. Our St Patrick’s Day was pretty quiet. I didn’t even do any pet pictures. Hopefully we’ll be back in the swing of things next year.

Thanks for sharing with the Pet Blogger Showcase!

  2. You two look so festive!!! My dad was born in Ireland so we had the obligatory corned beef and cabbage last night. It’s not my fave meal but the Guinness sure was good!

  3. Sam and Elsa, you wear the Irish green beautifully! Speaking of green, I’m green with envy that Lee Anna gets to see you in person next week! Wish I could too! Have a great weekend!

  4. You guys look great in your green! I went to therapy with Guilty this am and not much of anything else. I love corned beef and cabbage and I’m not Irish either. I love your word cloud on your sidebar!!

  5. We’re just hanging out…but Mama said something about wine….
    Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

      1. I just posted a new post for St. Patrick’s Day! Even though our little boy, Sparkles, sadly passed away just a few days ago… I hope he’ll enjoy his next life…

  6. Ducky might not try to eat the garland, but she would do her best to destroy it,

Our corned beef and cabbage is cooking in the crockpot, along with potatoes and carrots. Nothing special planned. Just our usual walk around the ball field, some playtime in the yard, and for me, review of my study guides as prep for my externship.

      1. Full weekend, full week after too! Need to do at least 2 hours of review per day. But hopefully we’ll be able to get our walks in, along with the mandatory playtime and doctor appointment (for the dog-daddy).

Looks like we’ll have plenty of leftovers. Definitely looking forward to it!

  7. Aww … pictures of you two always make my day! Elsa and Bear BOTH seem to misunderstand the meaning of “decoration” 😉 We hope you all have a wonderful day.
ps -Momma is 100% German (not kidding – my father’s done a lot of genealogy research to verify… both families came over in the late 1800’s).

  8. I was told as a wee lad I am from a line of Scotch-Irish so I indeed have a green shirt on today. I am passing on green beer, donuts and bagels but have no issue eating or drinking anything that normally appears as green. Pictures are adorable. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all at the Ranch!

  9. Sam’s thinking she better pay me in corned beef. Elsa is saying, this is messing up my hair do… better give me beer.

  10. Great effort guys. I was born in Ireland but here in Australia they don’t seem to do St Paddies day like you Americans!
