It is so disgusting. Not so much the heat, but the humidity. It makes me feel like the Wicked Witch of the East, when she melted. 🙂
We’re so over the heat (ours is mostly a ‘dry’ heat-I can’t even imagine adding humidity to the mix-I’d evaporate. 44 days to the official start of autumn, so hopefully the end is of this summer is near for you, Sampson and D-Dog.
I think Sam is becoming one with the carpet. Are you sure that isn’t quicksand?

Happy Pet Parade Day
Melting into the floor is an excellent metaphor. My dogs are currently lying on the tiled floor, eschewing their beds, anywhere where a bit of coolness can be found. Ottie has figured out which way the a/c blows for maximum impact on his body. This morning, at 7, it was actually nice and breezy and I was able to take them for a walk – otherwise, they are bored stiff.
Elsa tends to run warmer anyway (probably due to the epilepsy and being a black dog) and has been hanging out near the AC vent too. We’ve been taking our walks before dawn, otherwise the sidewalks are too warm on their pads. Ugh, I’m so over summer.
Autumn can’t come quick enough. Sighs – it’s so hot! XOXO – Bacon

Callie used to sleep like that all the time, no matter the season. And Ducky imitated her favorite older sister as best she could…and perfected the art. Shadow pretty much stays curled up or stretched out on the whole bed, with just her back legs hanging off the edge. But then, Shadow is my “little lady” – front paws crossed, bathroom in private, dainty sips of water, etc.
I’ve melted into a puddle of chocolate a few times myself this summer. But I worry about our friends in California.
We, too, will be happy to say goodbye to summer’s heat; but we’re not
not wishing our lives away in the process. We just do what we can to stay comfortable.
It’s all we can do. 😃
It’s pretty unusual for Sam to sprawl like that; he’s usually curled up in a tight little ball.
