Monday Smiles

After days of boom-booms, happy (with a dash of quiet) sounds really good to me. Make it a great week!

Live, love, bark! 🐾

  1. Yes! Hope it is all quiet and happy there! The boom-booms were wicked here this year – as in right next door! Thankfully, it’s all quiet now! Enjoy the peace! xo

    1. Ugh…they were noisy here but at least not next door. They kept going off all weekend but beyond one boomer Monday night, things have been quieter. Hugs and tail wags from all of us.

  2. Haha. It occured to me that oxymorons and hypocrites are kind of the same thing in different clothing, right? That’s not political or pointed at anyone. It was a “deep thoughts by Kat” moment.

  3. We are more than ready for QUIET – but not as much as we’re more than ready for WET – it’s desperately dry…….and hot. Keep cool gang!

    Hugs, Teddy

    1. Thanks, Teddy. We know just what you mean-it’s ghastly dry and moving back into hot this week. 74 days until autumn official arrives…not that I’m counting, mind you. 😊

    1. I heard they’re in your hometown. Wouldn’t be surprised if your guys worked them over really well. Stay safe-just say the weather report…looks like Beryl is going to cause havoc throughout the Midwest up through New England and as far north as Toronto. Powerful storm!

    1. I’d drink to that. Although I think the heat dome on the west coast is moving our way. Time to close up the house and stay inside!

      1. It’s so blech here that I just got back from a run. It’s already almost eighty here and the sun hasn’t even made an appearance yet.

        1. Yelp! Man, sounds like it’s gonna be a miserable week. At least it was pleasant enough this morning…this afternoon…91. Sigh. Head for the shade, dude. And don’t forget a cool beverage or three.

          1. So miserable. I walked outside at a little after four this morning and it was already almost eighty. WTF.

Imma take your advice on the cool beverage. 😉

            1. Awwwkkk! That’s way too hot at that time of day. Seems downright criminal. My daughter is in the Houston area and they are without power, have no phone service and the heat index is 100ºF. Makes my situation seem quite trivial by comparison. Talk about WTAF!! 😳

              1. It really is.

Houston is always nuts this time of year from what I’ve heard. Is it true they sometimes have to take the batteries out of their car or they’ll melt or is that an online legend?

                1. Houston is nuts all the time. I don’t know how people live down there. The weather is abominable.

                    1. Morale to this disaster…always remember things are never so bad they can’t get worse. 😵‍💫

  4. Well, I fed one son on Sunday and the other son on Monday and I might even feed myself today :o) Been a good start to the week thus far – rained all day Sunday and Monday was mild and dry. Today is to be dry and a bit warmer at 16C. Benji and I have been out for our morning walk, at 6am – no people around – so now it’s treat and coffee time.

    1. Treat and coffee sound like the perfect way to start the day. Have a great week.

    1. Meh isn’t all that bad. Sometimes, it’s just ‘pawfect.’ Just stay away from the morons. 🤣

  5. We did have our share of booms but it was short and sweet. I’m glad since I know dogs don’t care for it. Have a great week!

    1. Glad to hear you all survived. We’ve experienced multiple days of boomers. Pets of all stripes, wildlife, a lot of peeps and the environment all suffer when there fireworks are set off. Happy Monday.

  6. My dad used to say, “ any day above ground is a good one”. Looks like we’re off to a good start. 😉. 100 degree temps at The Golden K since Last Wednesday and more forecast for this week.
So I’m going to adapt my dad’s saying to, “ any day not on fire is a good one!” Hope you have a good week at The Ranch sans boo booms!

    1. Amen, Mike. Yeah, when I worked I use to say “everyday is a good day, some are just better than others. This week is gonna be brutal all across the west. Try to stay cool.

    1. Boy, ain’t that the truth, especially at this time of year. We hope the oxys win out this week. Have a good one.

  7. We’re enjoying the quiet here too.

I linked this post to Awww Mondays.

Have a fabulous day and week, my friend. Scritches to the pups and a hug to you. ♥

    1. As always, thanks so much for the link-you’re way too kind. I hope the quiet returns now. It’s been a noisy few days. Happy Monday, dear Sandee.

    1. Right back atcha, Dan. Peace and quiet is very much needed after July 4th.

    1. Some of those pesky folks were out walking their dogs this morning. Or should I say, they were reading their cell phones while their dogs were walking all over the place. Oy.

        1. If you want to control today’s society, hijack their wifi. It might actually wake them up and keep them from tripping on uneven sidewalks.

  8. I used to look forward to going to work after a weekend of catching up on all the things I hadn’t done during the week….

    1. Working moms tend to do that, Helen. I recall those days as well and learned that even if you started the week out on Tuesday, you likely wouldn’t be a fan of it either. Here’s hoping you’re all caught up for a while.

    1. So true. If the week began on Tuesday’s we’d have the same reaction we have to Mondays. I always said everyday is a good day, some are just better than others. Here’s hoping your today is that day.
